Vol 1 Chapter 57

Grasping the image of magic had become so familiar that it was almost a part of daily life now.

Kapros first read the incantations in the book spread out on the floor.

[Sword, fly mercilessly towards the enemy at my command. So that you may cut through anyone who stands in your way. - Magic Blade]

[When the lowered earth reverses towards the sky, the rock shall become a traitor and pierce like an eternal dagger rising up. - Stone Edge]

[Now the power of the raging wind is the wound of a storm that devours all. Become my sacrifice. - Dust Wind]

[With time's kiss, bind the enemy's feet. - Hold Person]

[Lower being, you shall not approach. - Dispel]

Perhaps because it was the tower's final magic book, there were only five spells. Moreover, three of them were attack spells that looked powerful even at a glance.

Just by reading the incantations, one could roughly grasp what kind of magic it would be, thanks to the words describing the magic's appearance. After grasping the overall framework, that's when one would start to concentrate and begin to concretely visualize in detail what kind of power it would have and how it would be used within a certain range.

Kapros closed his eyes and immersed himself in training.

By the time the promised period had almost passed, he had completed Magic Blade and Hold Person.

Since he had been trying to grasp the images from before, once he made up his mind to learn them properly, his speed definitely increased. Moreover, support spells were easier to learn than attack spells, and Magic Blade was an easy spell for Kapros, who could visualize sword images as much as he wanted. He was confident that he could quickly master the remaining two attack spells if he just had the time later.

Lastly, Kapros looked at Superior's Swordsmanship Style 1 scroll that he had tossed aside. With somewhat reluctant steps, he picked it up and slowly removed the seal for the first time. As light burst forth, suddenly a notification sound was heard.

Ding!

- Due to insufficient qualifications, the scroll will be sealed again.

Thud...

Along with the notification window stating insufficient qualifications, the scroll that had been floating in the air emitting light automatically rolled up again and fell. Kapros stood there blankly, not even thinking of picking it up.

"...5th circle master or higher?"

Even just entering the 5th circle would be hard for most users to believe, but this swordsmanship was demanding an even higher level. Even if he had learned it, he wouldn't have been able to use it right away, but hearing that he had insufficient qualifications suddenly made his head hot. Just how amazing was it that the qualification requirement was 5th circle master or higher? Kapros picked up the scroll, threw it into his inventory window, and stepped out of the room.

For now, he decided to postpone learning that swordsmanship. Judging by it being the most basic condition, he had a feeling that there might be other physical conditions attached even after reaching 5th circle or higher.

"Kap! ...Ugh!"

As soon as Kran, wearing heavy armor, saw Kapros from afar in front of the tavern, he ran to embrace him but tripped over Yu-wan's foot, which had appeared from nowhere, and fell with a tremendous noise.

"..."

"You're here."

After glancing at Yu-wan, who was grinning, and then at Kran, who seemed to be in a stunned state judging by how he couldn't get up after falling to the ground, Kapros slowly nodded.

"Yeah. I'm here."

His mood improved as these two still provided a unique joy to watch when they were together.

"Look at that guy. Why is he lying there like that?"

"I don't know. His pose is so funny, should we take a screenshot?"

As passing users whispered, Kran suddenly opened his eyes wide as if he had never been stunned.

"You're taking pictures of me?"

His burdensome expression from when they first met had perfectly revived. If it had been the first time seeing this, it would have been surprising, but by now, it had long since become familiar after seeing it more than once or twice.

"Ah... We just thought it might be funny. Sorry."

"No, it's fine if you take pictures. If it pleases beautiful people like yourselves."

"What?"

"If I can bring joy to others, this is nothing to me..."

"...Let's go."

Yu-wan led Kapros by the arm, looking as if he found it pathetic. Kapros agreed and gradually moved away from Kran until they were at a distance where they wouldn't be seen as part of the same group. It was fortunate that Kran no longer said such things in front of them, but Kapros didn't have the stomach to keep watching. He was just amazed at how Kran could respond like that so nonchalantly.

"Oppa, do you have a girlfriend?"

The term of address in the conversation heard from afar had already become "oppa". It seemed that in the hearts of the users who had seen Kran as a handsome madman, his handsomeness had finally won out.

"Girlfriend? I don't have a girlfriend, but there is someone I like."

"Wow. Who is it?"

"Well... Huh? Kap? Where did you go?"

Kran had finally realized that Kapros and Yu-wan had disappeared. Watching Kran look around with a dejected expression like a lost puppy, Kapros suddenly felt like laughing.

"Kap~!"

"..."

As Kapros was shaking with suppressed laughter, Yu-wan looked at him incredulously before relaxing his expression. Kran finally spotted them and came running.

"Why did you go ahead, Kap?"

Kran's drooping expression visible beyond the hood was so puppy-like that Kapros couldn't help it. He laughed for a long time without being able to answer.

"...Why is Kap like that?"

"..."

Yu-wan said nothing, with a somewhat complicated expression. It wasn't just Kapros's fault that the guy was starting to feel more and more like a cute pet these days.

After laughing as much as he wanted, Kapros took a deep breath, led the way through the marketplace, and asked:

"What have you been up to?"

"I went to the Temple Knights again to ask about the legendary holy knight. Didn't get much out of it though."

Kran answered.

"I trained."

When Yu-wan answered, Kran narrowed his eyes and looked at him.

"...I'd like to properly compete with you someday."

"Likewise."

With their skills being so evenly matched, it was natural for them to feel competitive. As Kapros watched their staring contest while passing through the marketplace, he suddenly noticed a group of people gathered in one place.

'Hmm?'

As he approached, he saw one person facing off against a group. Other people seemed to be surrounding them, watching.
