Vol 2 Chapter 55

The Magictopia guild members, the Pale Knights who had surprised people, and even Caesar standing next to the staff in the center, all disappeared in an instant, swept away by the wave of people. A temporary chaos began as many people mixed together simultaneously. As Kapros stumbled for a moment, feeling the ground vibrate along with the dust cloud that rose to his knees, Kran behind him caught him. Kion-hyung's eyes flashed as he turned sharply to Palton.

"Palton!"

"Got it."

Palton drew his greatsword from his back with incredible speed. As he drew a large circle, the blade held in both hands glowed bluish. Palton grinned with satisfaction at the sight, then looked at them and raised one hand.

"I'm going first! Hahaha!"

The giant figure rushed forward relentlessly at a speed that seemed impossible for someone carrying such a heavy weapon.

Boom!

"Argh!"

A loud explosion followed by screams could be heard from the direction he had run. Kion-hyung glanced that way and gripped Kapros's hand tightly.

"Now I have to go too. Try to pass through quickly without getting involved as much as possible. Talant Cave is just straight ahead in that direction."

"I'll return to the guild house when it's over."

As Kapros spoke firmly, hyung chuckled and let go of his hand.

"Alright. See you there. Be careful! Don't die!"

After finishing his words, hyung immediately rushed towards where Palton had gone. Soon, loud shouts and screams could be heard from that direction as well.

"..."

Before following, Kapros briefly observed Yu-wan and Kran. Yu-wan maintained his cool, expressionless face even in this atmosphere. Kran drew his sword with his eyes reddened from excitement and tension.

"Kap. Let's go too!"

"Yeah."

Yu-wan also drew his sword from its scabbard with a sound that seemed like it would pierce the heart.

They rushed towards the battlefield.

"What the hell are these guys!"

Suddenly, someone swung a sword at them as they broke through the side. However, he was soon cleanly disarmed by Kran's glowing white sword. At the same time, Yu-wan was kicking and stabbing someone who charged at him, mistaking him for an enemy. Those movements were faster and more swift than any monster hunt they had done so far.

"Argh!"

Pushing past those who fell back in surprise at the visual effect of blood spurting, Kapros ran without hesitation while constantly looking around.

He was partly checking if that 'not-to-be-met' Caesar was nearby, and also to see if he could spot Palton and Kion-hyung. However, it was impossible to properly identify who was who due to the chaotic melee and the vision filled with people.

"Kap, hurry!"

When Kapros fell slightly behind after losing focus for a moment, Kran grabbed his arm. In this place where people were entangled everywhere, he couldn't use Blink freely. Blink was a short-distance teleportation skill that could only be used when there was nothing in front. So even with Haste and Magic Shield cast, Kapros's stamina was continuously dropping just from running in the current situation. He had no energy to deal with people who mistook him for an enemy and charged at him. Fortunately, Kran and Yu-wan had been quickly handling them so far.

Yu-wan waited for Kran to pull Kapros's arm and then broke through the people blocking the front to make a path. A faint aura was forming on his sword blade. The aura, much longer than the one Kapros had seen when fighting Magictopia, seemed to be a technique that was too strenuous to use for long.

While being pulled by Kran's arm along the cleared path, Kapros witnessed a familiar magic being cast not far away. For a moment, his gaze was drawn to it.

Crackle, boom! Crackle, boom! Crackle crackle, kaboom!

"Aaargh!"

"That's...!"

Kran also stopped running and widened his eyes. The scene of electric bolts connecting people and exploding in succession was powerful enough to make even those watching from the side instinctively dodge. They both knew that magic well.

"Chain Lightning...!"

4th circle Chain Lightning.

It was the first time Kapros had seen Chain Lightning cast by someone other than himself, so he stopped, forgetting he was running. He narrowed his eyes to see the caster of the magic that was briefly revealed beyond where users had died and disappeared, and saw a user in a mage's robe, shoulders slumped and breathing heavily. He could immediately recognize who she was with her long straight hair and determined face.

Arcana. The guild master of the Magictopia guild. Come to think of it, hadn't she said she was a 4th circle master?

Arcana, looking tired, turned her gaze and spotted Kapros in the gap, her eyes widening.

"...Kapros-nim! Is that you?"

Her face, tired a moment ago, lit up with a welcoming expression as she ran towards him. Kran gripped his sword tightly, but Kapros grabbed his shoulder to stop him. Yu-wan, who had gone ahead, seemed to realize only then that they weren't following and was coming back.

"I wasn't sure because you're wearing your hood so low, but to think I'd see you here... Did you participate in the guild war?"

"No, we need to get out of here."

"Oh my, why? And who are these people with you..."

Even in the midst of this, a swordsman with a raised sword charged from behind her.

"Lightning Bolt!"

Boom!

Kapros quickly stretched out his hand and shouted the activation word. The swordsman who was hit by the powerful electric shock that fell from above soon logged out and faded away.

"Oh, thank you!"

Arcana blinked for a moment as if she didn't know what had happened, but soon grasped the situation and bowed. Kapros just nodded roughly and turned around immediately.

"Well then, goodbye."

"Yes, yes!"

As he ran after the impatient-looking Kran, Kapros glanced at her. Seeing that there was no one around her, a guild master, it seemed they had scattered here and there during the melee.

After running a bit more, Yu-wan rejoined them. He had some blood on his face, showing how much he had fought in the meantime. This aspect was so chillingly realistic that it really felt like Kapros was standing in the middle of a battlefield in the midst of a melee.

"...Quickly."
