Vol 2 Chapter 61

Anyway, Kapros hoped Kran would remember the path well.

He focused his consciousness again on the magic he was controlling. This time, instead of individual ones, he roughly divided the 30 or so scattered spheres into groups of four or five, and began to control those groups. However, unlike before, they couldn't be easily sent flying.

He couldn't harm Yu-wan, but it wasn't easy to find an opportunity because their movements were too fast and closely intertwined. To throw this, there needed to be even a brief gap between the two.

Bang!

While anxiously watching, moving the groups around and occasionally sending one or two as feints, Yu-wan and Caesar's raised auras suddenly rebounded back with a more intense impact than before. This created a narrow empty space between the two, and Kapros decided to seize that gap without missing it.

Stretching out both hands, he sent the arbitrarily named Group 1 fiercely towards Caesar. They squeezed between Yu-wan and Caesar and exploded, and the couple of Flame Strikes mixed in briefly disappeared before causing a large explosion belatedly. The gap between Yu-wan and Caesar widened due to the impact incomparably larger than the Fireballs, revealing a sufficient opening for Kapros to strike.

Without pause, he then launched Group 2 mixed with Flame Strikes and Group 3 containing only Fireballs. Group 2 flew straight to Caesar's side but was blocked by his swinging sword, failing to hit. As if timed with it, Group 3 swiftly flew around to the back and hit the back of his head, but being weak Fireballs, they fizzled out powerlessly.

Although he received a momentary chaotic attack, Caesar, who ultimately wasn't seriously injured, shook his head and glared at Kapros.

"That's right. You're the Superior user..."

A low voice.

Kapros felt both the anger he had suppressed for the past 3 years and the brotherly familiarity he had built up for 11 years at that voice, and disgust welled up. He quickly turned his body away from the eyes staring as if trying to remember his appearance. On the other hand, he found the current situation somewhat amusing.

To think that this would be where they'd meet for the first time after parting like that back then. How could fate be so cruel?

'Jeong Seung-jo...'

You don't know.

That the reason I chose MIST was to live a new life.

What about you?

Did you perhaps want to live a new life in a new world too?

If so, it wasn't a bad attempt. It was just funny that we ended up meeting like this in a place like this. That we, long-time rivals, would meet again as enemies here. It was such an unrealistic situation that one might wonder if such coincidences could happen twice in the world.

The only fortunate thing here was that the opponent didn't know who Kapros was.

"Hm..."

Feeling as if the things he had barely suppressed were about to burst out again, Kapros took a deep breath. Let's not think any further. There would be plenty of time to think later.

As all of Kapros's attacks were blocked, Yu-wan clung to Caesar again. Because of this, Caesar couldn't look at Kapros for long and was forced to face Yu-wan again. Taking advantage of this, Kapros continued to pour similar sight-disturbing attacks whenever there was an opening between the two, but gradually increased the number of Flame Strikes inserted in between, making the explosive power gradually stronger.

Yu-wan and Kapros's attacks, which didn't give the enemy time to notice the subtle changes, continued endlessly. The attacks that flowed as if they had coordinated beforehand without speaking were perfect enough to be difficult to escape even if the opponent noticed the pattern. Finally, Caesar completely wiped off the expression that had seemed to take them lightly.

Right. He was probably as annoyed as if they were flies. Both Kapros's attacks that seemed powerful but didn't land, and Yu-wan's attacks that persistently clung but weren't fatal. They relentlessly pressed on with continuous attacks that weren't weak but weren't giving their all, just enough to not feel out of place.

"If you're going to keep playing this game of dragging out time and looking for a moment of carelessness, I'll just end it here."

Finally, Caesar leaped back greatly and raised his sword in front of his face. At the same time, Yu-wan, who was about to charge in, hesitated at the tremendous aura that burst forth. It was the moment when the situation Kapros had wanted finally unfolded. He sighed contentedly.

"Phew..."

With your personality that hated being mocked by others to death, I knew you would definitely react to this half-hearted attack.

"What are you trying to do!"

Kapros, feigning a flustered appearance, mixed all the remaining Fireballs and Flame Strikes at once, and poured them all onto Caesar while acting desperate.

He sent the Fireballs first.

Bang! Boom boom boom boom!

"This mere deception!"

Caesar shouted and swung his sword with a completely different aura than before to block them. For some reason, it looked dark as if black mist was spewing from around his body. The surroundings became chaotic with the flickering light and wind pressure from the explosions.

In that gap, Kapros shot the Flame Strikes as a final move.

'Go...!'

The Flame Strikes, which flew steadily according to Kapros's control even amidst the swaying air currents and explosion sounds, approached Caesar's surroundings and then quietly disappeared like the Fireballs that vanished powerlessly at his attack.

Very naturally.

And when they reappeared as if sliding...

Bang! Bang! Boom boom boom boom!

The once imposing Caesar's knees buckled for a moment, unable to even make a sound due to the powerful explosions pummeling his entire body. And then consecutively again explosion, explosion, explosion, explosion, explosion.

"Ugh!"

"Serves you right. Despite there being two of us, the one who let their guard down was you."

Kapros sneered to his heart's content and flicked his hand towards Yu-wan. Yu-wan glanced once at Caesar and quickly ran towards Kapros. Hiding the Flame Strikes among the Fireballs, and then using the characteristic of Flame Strikes disappearing just before impact to deliver a big final blow when the provoked Caesar showed the biggest opening. That was the reason for carefully dragging out time until now.

Without even looking back at Caesar, who couldn't regain his senses, Kapros grabbed Yu-wan and ran towards Kran. Kran, who had been fidgeting restlessly, shouted lowly as they returned.
