Vol 4 Chapter 2
"Alright. Since we still have some time left... [Holy Transfer]!"
This third skill that Kran had obtained from the goddess statue in Russil was something even Kapros was seeing for the first time. Instantly, a golden light appeared and spread, rushing towards Kapros. As he watched the light being absorbed into his body as if shattering, Kran grinned and waved his hand.
"Perfect! Show me the effects of Holy Transfer later too."
"..."
While Kapros was wondering if he had become an experimental subject, Un-o's voice was heard from above.
"They're coming soon!"
There was no time for distractions.
Manifesting a 6th circle spell still required quite a lot of time and mental concentration. Kapros immediately closed his eyes and began imaging Aerial Servant. That unique and strange feeling he had never even imagined before.
He becomes the wind, and the wind becomes him.
Feeling that he was still lacking in controlling both views with his eyes open, Kapros thought it might be better to close his eyes and freely use only the Aerial Servant's view during battle. This was the beginning of the 6th circle magic combination he was about to attempt.
Feeling the taut tension, he drew a circle with his hand and pushed his arm in. Soon, along with a whooshing sound in his ears, he felt light brushing past and the formula world seeming to spread out.
He heard the sound of monster hordes approaching, trampling the undergrowth in the distance.
'...Now.'
"I desire that you break free from your existence and reveal your breath in this moment to move for me."
The range was in front of him. The direction was the same as his line of sight.
"Aerial Servant!"
"Whoa!"
As a light gust of wind swept around them like an incredibly fast object passing by, Kapros heard Kran's surprised voice. At the same time, as if light was bursting, the world in front of him brightened, and he began to perceive everything despite his closed eyes. This wind's vision was much wider than his own, allowing him to recognize quite a broad range, though not as much as Un-o.
After controlling the movement in his mind a few times, making it circle around him, Kapros quickly moved the Aerial Servant towards the approaching Chilaka.
'Move!'
Swoosh!
The Aerial Servant's view, which had rushed forward without any resistance and effortlessly penetrating obstacles, soon reached right in front of the Chilaka. The number was exactly twenty-three. This wasn't a particularly large number among the Chilaka he had seen so far.
Looking at the Chilaka group that paid no attention to him circling and observing them, a smile of success unconsciously appeared on Kapros's lips. Generally, no creature is wary of wind or air. This was the moment that proved his thought that scouting enemies through the Aerial Servant's view would be entirely possible.
Now, this was where it really began. As he drew another circle with his other hand and pushed it in, a sound of astonishment burst out from behind.
"Kap! What are you trying to..."
"Inferno!"
"Whoa!"
"..."
However, nothing happened, making his shout seem futile.
But he had already anticipated this much from his previous experience.
Kapros slowly opened his eyes. The world that had been cleanly recognized as one in his mind was now supplemented by the visible world as he opened his eyes.
Whoosh!
As if it had been waiting for Kapros to open his eyes, a spark that had formed and gathered in mid-air dropped to the ground, and immediately began to grow, devouring the field voraciously like a demon.
Crackle!
"Wa-wa-wa-whoa!"
Kapros heard Kran, who had had enough bitter experience with this uncontrolled Inferno before, retreating with a rustle, extremely surprised.
Un-o's voice wasn't heard either, suggesting he was deliberately trying not to catch Kapros's gaze. But Kapros, already knowing that Inferno would just loiter in place if he didn't move his gaze, had no intention of looking at them on purpose.
As the view of the Aerial Servant following the Chilaka and the view of the Inferno in front of him merged, his head started to feel dizzy, but it was better than he had expected.
'This is probably... the power of the skill Kran cast on me?'
Experiencing it for the second time, he felt he might be able to get the hang of it better than the first time. The methods of controlling Aerial Servant, a general magic, and Inferno, Superior's magic, were different.
Aerial Servant had an aspect of being like a robot carrying out commands, so if ordered to 'follow this enemy', it could lightly recognize information without needing to be controlled in detail to move forward or backward, allowing Kapros to focus more on the world he saw with his eyes. However, this Inferno that had been very perplexing until now...
"Once that comes out, you can't get rid of it, right?!"
At Kran's voice, Kapros narrowed his eyes. Last time, he had tried to dispel Inferno by commanding and imaging 'disappear' as with normal methods, but when Inferno didn't vanish, he had been in big trouble. But in the end, he had been able to make it disappear, and what he had done then was...
'It's not imaging or commanding, but a 'pure wish for the goal'.'
When he had lost all strength at the end and just wished for it to disappear without any thought, Inferno had vanished. Afterwards, Kapros had thought about it quite a lot and concluded that perhaps 'without any thought' was the key point. That was the only difference between before and then.
Imaging is related to imagination but requires some calculation for movement in mind. But this Superior magic was similar yet opposite - perhaps it could be moved just by clearing the mind and strongly thinking of a very simple 'goal'. In fact, when he first summoned Inferno, he had been in a state of strong desire to see 'the form of magic implemented' without any particular imaging.
Looking at the threatening Inferno surging before his eyes, Kapros saw through the Aerial Servant's view that the Chilaka group had approached to within a few hundred meters.
'An appropriate distance.'
