Vol 6 Chapter 10

Suddenly, the image of Un-o, who had rarely shown emotion and expressed frustration about having good items but letting them go to waste, came to mind, but Kapros quickly dismissed it. What did it matter? He had been playing the game just fine without these cheat-like item abilities until now.

'Still, it's a bit of a waste to let this special ability go unused. When I get out of here, I should think about which magic to put in and try it.'

As he carefully examined the information window, scrolling down, his gaze stopped at the skill at the very end.

Special Skill Aiagas.

He thought that this skill, which had the same name as the brooch, might be necessary to trigger the condition for opening the magic book. This skill had also allowed him to see Superior's third memory when used on the hut where Superior had last stayed in the elf village, so it seemed quite plausible.

Without hesitation, Kapros placed his hand holding Aiagas on the magic book. The flickering red light of Aiagas intensified, adding to the tension.

"Aiagas!"

Whoosh!

- Conditions have been met!

'Success!'

However, the time he could rejoice at the voice he heard was short. Suddenly, light burst forth like when viewing Superior's memories, instantly engulfing his field of vision.

When all his senses became distant for a moment and then close again, Kapros was flying over the gray sky of a desolate battlefield where acrid smoke was rising from various places. At first, he was startled, but having seen a similar scene before, he quickly realized where this was.

'This must be somewhere on the battlefield where Superior and the heroes fought long ago.'

As if confirming his guess, after gliding for a while and descending as if sliding, what he saw was Superior with his red hair fluttering.

- Kuaaaagh!

What was blocking his path, covering everything in black amidst the debris of a completely destroyed and burned city, were demons. Although there was no one by Superior's side, he looked more dignified than ever as he faced hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of black monsters alone. The red energy swirling around him as if wrapped around his body seemed somehow familiar, and upon closer inspection, Kapros saw that they were sparks of Inferno fiercely guarding him like satellites orbiting their mother planet. They looked like fierce guard dogs trying to protect their master with their own will.

Seeing Superior controlling multiple Infernos, which Kapros could barely summon one of, as if they were extensions of his own body, he had a realization bordering on shock that this was the true use of Inferno.

Despite his robe and exposed skin being torn in various places with blood flowing from the wounds, Superior's unwavering spirit prevented the demons from finding a chance to attack through the Inferno, and they could only growl.

With his left arm hanging limply as if broken, Superior slowly raised his right hand. Thousands of red eyes flowing with sticky madness glared at that fingertip. Amidst the tense atmosphere, Superior finally lowered his arm with precision, as if a director giving a cue, and chanted a spell.

"You, flame sharper than a blade. Become a tail of deadly poison and pierce through to the heart. Scorpion Fire...!"

At that moment, from the ground behind Superior where there had been nothing, a bright red flame rose like a shadow and rushed towards the center of the demons.

Fwoosh!

- Kyaaaak!

It was but an instant that the flame with its pointed tip, dragging a long tail, cleanly penetrated through some of the black mass that filled the view. The demons pierced by the flame turned to ash and disappeared without even being able to dodge. It was an incredible power, as if a laser cannon had been fired.

Only after a few seconds did the demons begin to cause a commotion, staring at the place that had been pierced through like an empty tunnel. However, the magic called Scorpion Fire had already returned behind Superior, wavering like a heat haze in the shadow at his feet, waiting as if nothing had happened.

'It truly lives up to its name.'

A flame magic bearing the name of a scorpion, famous for its venomous tail. It was indeed worthy of its name. As Kapros was staring intently, trying to imprint the scene before his eyes in his memory, suddenly a notification sound was heard.

Ding!

- The seal on 7th circle Scorpion Fire has been broken. You can now learn Scorpion Fire!

7th circle...!

While Kapros was looking at the notification window with wide eyes in surprise, Superior was already pointing at demons lurking on another side and chanting a different spell.

"You, ice softer than flowers."

A white cold mist began to form above Superior's head.

"Ride on the hem of the mad wind and dance to bloom death. Freezing Flower!"

The mass of white cold energy that had been growing larger burst out forward with a crackling sound the moment the spell ended. It looked like watching white fabric unraveling in mid-air.

When the cold energy fell to the ground and spread like fog, causing the demons to panic and thrash about, the sound of ice rapidly freezing could be heard from various places. Turning his eyes in that direction, Kapros saw ice encasing the demons in a spiral pattern, as if rose petals were forming from their feet. It was a marvelous sight, like flowers blooming, but at the same time, it was incredibly grotesque due to the demons screaming in the center where the stamen should be.

- Kuaaaak!

- Kieeek! Kieek!

A hell of white ice flowers spread out everywhere. The writhing demons were unable to escape and eventually froze to death, turning blue. The remaining demons, overcome with fear, hesitated before charging towards Superior. However, Superior, even as he watched the demons about to pounce on him with terrifying screams, didn't bat an eye and opened his mouth as if to chant another spell.

Not missing that moment, another notification window appeared.

Ding!

- The seal on 7th circle Freezing Flower has been broken. You can now learn Freezing Flower!

As incredible magic and notification windows continued to appear alternately, Kapros's mind was in a whirl. He decided to focus more on observing the magic Superior was using rather than trying to grasp the current situation.

"You, wind with will. Dare not tolerate the pulsing breath of the enemy before you. Wind Heart!"
