Vol 6 Chapter 11

With a whooshing sound, a sharp wind coldly escaped from around Superior. Just as Kapros was wondering why all sounds seemed to diminish suddenly, an enormously loud heartbeat echoed and spread through his head.

Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump...!

At that moment, all the demons rushing to tear Superior apart stopped. In the scene where even the sharply swirling air and time seemed to have stopped, only Superior's eyes were shining brightly. A moment later,

Pop, pop, pop! Splat!

'Ah...'

All the demons within a few hundred meters in front of Superior burst open. In an instant, a black blood mist rose and a fishy smell soaked the earth. The sight of corpses, crushed as if by pressure, writhing without realizing their death was so cruel that even Kapros felt nauseated. The demons who witnessed the death of their comrades right before their eyes were so terrified that they didn't dare to approach and began to retreat.

Ding!

At first, the number of demons had been so great that the horizon couldn't be seen, but now it had noticeably decreased. Kapros looked at Superior with a feeling of admiration. However, despite achieving such tremendous results single-handedly, Superior's expression was incredibly dark. No, rather than dark, he looked very unwell.

As Superior tried to take a few steps forward, he staggered slightly while clutching his limp left arm. Surprised, Kapros looked closer and saw dark red blood flowing and clotting on the inside of the arm, which hadn't been visible until now, soaking the sleeve. It was the most severe injury, unnoticed due to the dark color of the clothes and the blood flowing from various places.

Only then did Kapros realize that Superior's complexion, which he had thought was normal, was actually deathly pale. However, it seemed he wasn't the only one who noticed this. A demon observing from the closest position, apparently certain of Superior's injury, let out an incomprehensible cry, and all the demons who had been hesitantly retreating turned to glare in their direction.

- Kyaaaak!

As the instigating demon shouted once more, the others, completely regaining their momentum, slowly approached like wolves cornering their prey, and then, without any signal, launched a full-scale attack on Superior all at once.

"Haa... ha..."

Superior, catching his breath, grimaced and chanted a counter-spell.

"Inferno. Protect me! Blizzard. Sweep away the enemy! And..."

The Infernos that had been swirling around Superior's body leapt out, sparking as if baring their teeth ferociously, and from afar, Kapros could see the ice storm of Blizzard crushing buildings and sweeping away demons. Superior, who had been looking at them with his eyes half-closed and an expression of hesitation, finally bit his lower lip slightly and opened his mouth again.

"Sand blessed by time, envelop me until my last breath. Enclose Sand."

As soon as the words ended, the ground within a radius of about 1 meter around Superior's feet rose up and enveloped his feet. Suddenly, Superior's wounds, which had been continuously bleeding, turned black and stopped.

Ding!

- The seal on 7th circle Enclose Sand has been broken. You can now learn Enclose Sand!

Although he looked like someone with a skin disease, Superior didn't seem to mind. After taking a few deep breaths, the color returned to his pale face with surprising speed. Except for the black spots scattered here and there, he looked as if he had returned to his pre-injury state.

During this time, Inferno and Blizzard had been struggling with the demons, but they seemed to crawl out endlessly from somewhere, showing no signs of disappearing. Even after using 7th circle magic several more times to eliminate them, when they still didn't completely vanish, Superior clenched his fist.

"I thought I wouldn't have to use this... There's no time..."

Unaware that Kapros was on edge due to his expression of great reluctance and ominous words, Superior tightly closed his eyes, then opened them and finally chanted one more spell.

"Fragments of spirits dwelling in darkness, nest in the mirror within me. Evil Eye...!"

Suddenly, a golden light burst forth from Superior's eyes, which had always shone with a clear red color.

Kapros watched the amazing scenes that unfolded as a result, forgetting even to breathe.

'This can't be...'

"..."

Even after returning to the cave holding Superior's magic book, Kapros's mind was filled with images of the magic he had just seen. Among them, the impact of the last magic he saw, Evil Eye, was incomparably greater than the others.

After being immersed in the afterglow of the memory for a long time, Kapros finally gathered his thoughts and called up the skill window.

"Open skill window."

He went to the magic category among the categories divided into general/magic/swordsmanship and scrolled down to find the newly created 7th circle list.

Unlike the previous magic, which had detailed explanations about what type or attribute they were, this seemed different. Wondering what this was about, he scrolled up to the 6th circle section and saw a sight that seemed to show some differences.

.

Except for Superior's magic, Inferno and Blizzard, Aerial Servant, which he had learned from a scroll received from Ilumine, had brief explanations about the magic, just like the magic from the 1st to 5th circles.

'So this is indeed a special explanation that applies only to Superior's magic.'

Kapros, who had been wondering if this meant he should learn the magic with only minimal hints, decided to be satisfied for now with the fact that he could finally learn 7th circle magic. He reattached Aiagas, which had been left alone thanks to Superior's magic book that had disappeared after fulfilling its duty, to his chest.

In fact, through Superior's memory he had just seen, Kapros had gained an incredible benefit that couldn't be bought with money. In MIST, establishing an image was the most important process when using magic, and by seeing Superior cast his spells, Kapros had leaped over that process. Compared to Inferno or Blizzard, which had taken an enormous amount of time to use without any hints, this was an incomparable stroke of luck.
