Vol 6 Chapter 45
That was when it happened. Suddenly, someone cut in front of Kapros and sent the rushing attacker flying with a kick. Though it was a smooth and light movement, the aftermath was tremendous. The guild member couldn't even scream as he flew through the air faster than he had charged, his stomach armor caved in, and collapsed while coughing blood.
"Urgh! Cough!"
'The only one who could commit such acts without hesitation...'
Black armor and silver hair. Caesar, who had been merely observing the situation until now, was returning his kicked leg to its original position with an obviously annoyed frown. The intense fear emanating from his posture as he kept his hands deeply buried in his pockets and moved only his feet not only broke the morale of all enemies but also served as an incredibly effective provocation.
"Who the hell are you, you bag of bones!"
At the excited guild member's shout, Caesar slowly blinked his eyes before smiling cynically with a twisted lip.
"Watching this got annoying, so I'm a bag of bones who came to clean up."
And Caesar ended the pathetic threatening situation by simply walking forward and effortlessly kicking away the guys who were trying to attack. After creating several casualties around him as easily as if it were a fight between an adult and children, Caesar stepped firmly on the head of one of the guys rolling around and groaning below, with his characteristically ice-cold cruelty reflected in his eyes.
"Ugh...uuugh! I-I'm sorry..."
"Shut up."
Thud. When Caesar mercilessly kicked the head making blood spray, the people who had been watching the situation with some amusement until now screamed.
"Kyaah! Blood!"
"It's unofficial PK!"
"Where are the security NPC guards?"
Watching the surroundings suddenly become noisy, Kapros gave a hollow laugh. Was it the same everywhere - wherever Caesar appeared, that place became a scene of destruction and death?
Only the location was different; the scene here was reminiscent of when he first met Caesar during the Zagreb Infinite Guild War. The people now were almost no different from those people then, who would run away for their lives whenever they heard Caesar had appeared, but ultimately got caught and died.
Caesar continued to step on and kick the fallen guys' heads and hands with an expressionless face. Each time, the sound of blood spraying and bones breaking could be heard clearly from where Kapros stood. The stall owner, who had been begging for mercy earlier, had been properly kicked and was now in a near-death state with only intermittent convulsions, and among the remaining guild members, some had injuries so severe they looked dead. It was an unbelievable massacre accomplished using only feet in black walker boots.
'I never thought the Jeong Seung-jo of the past had such a sadistic personality... No, did he have that tendency back then too?'
While thinking this, suddenly the sound of urgent footsteps came from behind.
"Stop right there, violent criminal! Stay where you are! You're under arrest by the Bala Monyak Security Force!"
When he turned around, he saw security guard NPCs in uniform coming to catch Caesar. Kapros frowned and approached Caesar, who was still beating the fallen men despite surely having heard that shout, and grabbed his arm. Though Caesar turned to look at him with fierce eyes, Kapros ignored it and pulled him forward while maintaining his grip.
"Run."
"Haste!" As soon as he muttered the spell quietly, the wind that wrapped around their bodies made both Caesar and Kapros lighter. Though Caesar was initially being heavily dragged along, when Kapros said more forcefully "I said run," he started running with a somewhat strange expression.
Since Kapros was the one falling behind once they started running in earnest, after a certain point he had to use Fly to slightly lift his feet and fly to barely keep up with the pace.
"Stop right there!"
After running for a while and shaking off the pursuing security force, they escaped to another busy street. Only then could they catch their breath and look around.
"Huff... huff..."
When Kapros looked at Caesar while catching his breath, the guy maintained the same composed expression as if his stamina hadn't decreased at all. Rather, he wore an expression that seemed not to understand why Kapros was panting, which somewhat hurt Kapros's pride internally.
"Why did you beat them like that earlier?"
When Kapros asked while straightening his bent waist, Caesar frowned and muttered.
"Because it was annoying."
"I could have handled it."
Caesar looked straight at Kapros and sneered.
"How amusing. You who were playing alone after calling someone? If you hadn't left the end to me, I was planning to deal with you first."
Right, is that so... Though it was a bit absurd, Kapros just shook his head and decided to be satisfied that Caesar had become somewhat more like his usual self. Though he wasn't sure if it was fortunate that he returned to normal after nearly killing over a dozen people.
"Because of you, I couldn't even get any of those prizes earlier."
"..."
Though Kapros mentioned suddenly remembering that he couldn't take any of the nine expensive prizes he had won, Caesar said nothing. His expression was as if he were asking who let a dog bark. Giving up on getting a normal response from him, Kapros was walking when he felt somewhat hungry. He tended to feel hungry when his stamina consumption increased, and that seemed to be why. Looking around, there happened to be a street vendor selling meat skewers with a magic range.
"If you're sorry, you could at least buy me that..."
Though there was no way he would be sorry, when Kapros said this half-jokingly, Caesar, who had glanced at him, suddenly walked steadily toward that street stall. Though Kapros had said it, he was so surprised that he stopped for a moment before following, and found Caesar ordering, or rather demanding, while pointing at two skewers.
"Two."
"What? Two... two what?"
"..."
"You're... you're ordering, right?"
"..."
"Understood..."
As Kapros watched the frightened street vendor user hurriedly take out two skewers and grill them, he examined Caesar's unchangingly sharp features. Though he couldn't understand what wind had blown to make him buy skewers, surprisingly Caesar showed no signs of displeasure.
