Chapter 84

* * *

"Sandy, my love!"

"Honey!"

Ezra happily called out his wife's name when he saw her visiting the bar. At the appearance of the woman, who was no different from the main character of the party, everyone stirred and greeted her.

"Welcome, Sandra."

"It must be tough for you? If there's anything we can do to help, just let us know anytime."

"Rest is the best. Don't overdo it and ask for help whenever you need it, we're like family."

"If you get proper treatment, everything will get better, I'll pray for you."

Sandra smiled and responded to each of the outpouring words of encouragement. Though everyone was inwardly full of sympathy and concern for her appearance, which was thinner than before, they outwardly pretended to be cheerful, raising their voices higher than usual to create a joyful atmosphere.

"You can't drink alcohol, right?"

"What non-alcoholic drinks do we have here?"

It was when they were looking for the bartender to order a drink for Sandra.

"What the hell are you doing?"

Dane's rough shout pierced through the loud music and reached their ears. At the somehow tumultuous atmosphere, one by one, people turned their heads. When the surprised Sandra and Ezra looked back, they saw men arguing in one corner. Sandra, who first recognized a familiar face, covered her mouth with one hand and let out a surprised exclamation.

"Oh my, Dane?"

"What are they doing, those guys..."

Ezra also muttered as if confused. While everyone was bewildered, Sandra whispered to her husband, who was holding her waist.

"Who is that man? I haven't seen him before."

Ezra also answered her in a low voice.

"He's the extreme Alpha I told you about. Greyson Miller."

"Oh my, an extreme Alpha? It's my first time seeing one..."

Sandra, who was startled at first, soon muttered with a blank face.

"Alphas and Omegas all have good looks, but extreme Alphas are on a different level... He really doesn't seem like a person of this world."

After saying that, she quickly returned to reality and smiled at Ezra.

"Of course, my husband is the best in my eyes."

Ezra also responded with a knowing smile and mischievously said.

"I love you."

They kissed lightly with a smile.

"But what's really going on?"

Soon returning to reality, Sandra asked in puzzlement, and Ezra shook his head.

"I don't know either. Let's just watch for now."

Like them, whispers continued as no one knew the situation.

"Why are those guys suddenly fighting?"

"I don't know, Miller probably picked a fight."

"Well, I can't agree with that. Miller doesn't care about other people at all."

"Then did Dane pick a fight? Dane is the one who doesn't care about others."

"Right, if someone were to pick a fight, it would be DeAndre, not Dane, I can't imagine it..."

"Shh, everyone be quiet, let's listen. Bartender! Turn off the music! Everyone shut up!"

Soon, everywhere became quiet, and everyone focused their attention on one place with their mouths shut. In the spacious bar, only Dane and Greyson's voices went back and forth rapidly.

"What are you doing to a woman, you son of a bitch!"

Dane shouted at Greyson, hiding the woman he had been holding behind his back. Greyson, still with a frowning face, directed his gaze to the woman who had hidden behind Dane, but she wasn't visible. After letting out a "ha" sigh and running his fingers through his hair, Greyson opened his mouth.

"Let's not do this here, let's go outside and talk."

Greyson grabbed Dane's arm, but he immediately shook it off.

"Talk? What talk? How many times do I have to tell you I have nothing to talk about with you?"

"I do, so just listen for a moment."

Greyson tried to persuade him quite calmly, but all he got in return was Dane's sneer.

"That's your problem, I have no intention of listening, so go talk to the wall or bark or do whatever you want. I'll do my thing."

Greyson stopped speaking and looked down at him. Everyone gathered there could understand what Dane meant by "my thing." How would Greyson react? As everyone watched with excitement, an awkward silence flowed. No one opened their mouth. In the quiet atmosphere, Greyson finally spoke.

"Isn't it a bit unfair for you to treat me like this?"

Unexpectedly, he smiled. The onlookers blinked in confusion. Why is he smiling? Amidst the bewildered gazes, Dane frowned and asked.

"Why not? You're the one crossing the line right now."

He continued to spit out in a rough tone, as if displeased.

"Whatever I do with whoever has nothing to do with you. You too can play with anyone, just as you've done until now, what more is there to talk about? That's the end of it. Understand? It's over!"

Dane spread his arms wide with his palms up and spat out a curse, "Damn it!" As if this situation was utterly tiresome.

Of course, it was a completely meaningless conversation for Dane, but it was different for Greyson.

"Me, you know."

He paused before opening his mouth, as if about to make a grand confession.

"I haven't slept with anyone since that day."

"So what?"

Dane snickered and tilted his head to one side.

"What does that have to do with me?"

At the inevitably sarcastic remark, Greyson was silent for a moment again, then ran a hand over his face.

"I don't know either."

"Huh."

At the somewhat deflated voice, Dane let out an incredulous sigh. Greyson continued to speak.

"I can't get you out of my head. Just the thought of you being with someone else makes my chest feel like it's burning up. What is this? Do you know why I'm like this?"

"Probably because you can't get laid."

Dane provided a straightforward answer. He tapped his head with his second finger and continued.

"Your pheromones have built up, making this weird. So just go to a party or do whatever and get rid of those damn pheromones. Stop bothering me."

"I can't do that."

Greyson denied his words in a slow tone. When Dane contorted his eyebrows, he confessed, still keeping his gaze fixed on Dane.

"I told you, I can't think of anyone but you. I don't want to extract pheromones with anyone else. I..."

"So you want to sleep with me again? Are you really crazy?"

Dane retorted roughly. Until then, he had been suppressing his anger by drawing on all his patience.

"Didn't you say you don't sleep with someone you've already slept with? Get a grip, Miller. You're clearly out of your mind because of pheromones."

"But you do."

Greyson pointed out. And that's when Dane's anger, which he had been holding back and suppressing until then, exploded.

"I won't sleep with you again!"

Dane shouted roughly.

"Didn't I tell you not to do this old-fashioned stuff? How long are you going to be so clingy? I would have slept with whoever was in front of me that day, you just happened to be there, unfortunately! So stop sticking to me like this and get lost, get out of my sight right now!"

It was an ultimatum, but as expected, it didn't work on Greyson. Seeing Greyson standing there without budging, Dane was dumbfounded. It felt like he was shouting and getting angry at a wall. Finally, he ground his teeth and spat out.

"If you won't leave, I will. Follow me and I'll kill you, so come if you want to die."

After the threat, he showed his third finger and turned around. With large strides, he reached the entrance in just a few steps, but of course, Greyson wasn't one to just watch. When Dane looked back before opening the door and going out, he confirmed that Greyson was following him and grimaced fiercely.

"This fucking bastard...!"

With Dane's anger-filled curse, the door closed. Those left behind in the desolate silence could only blink with blank faces.

"Shouldn't we call 911?"

When someone worriedly spoke up, someone else, as if finally coming to their senses, chided.

"We are 911, idiot."

"Ah, right..."

An awkward silence descended again. And they gradually realized. What the conversation they had just heard meant. Amidst people who had opened their eyes wide in surprise, someone screamed in astonishment.

"Wait, they slept together? Then who was on the bottom?"

At that moment, the sound of people roughly swallowing their breath was heard from here and there. The question that had been floating hazily like fog in their minds suddenly became a sentence and unfolded before their eyes.
