Chapter 112

Warm breaths met. Soon their lips would touch. They both knew. What would happen next. But neither of them avoided it. Rather, when they exhaled an excited sigh as if desperately wanting that moment.

"Dane?"

At the sudden sound of someone calling, both of them stopped moving. Immediately, Dane turned around. The warm temperature that had touched Greyson's cheek also fell away. Greyson looked in the same direction as Dane with a contorted face, then hesitated. An unexpected face was there.

"Yeonwoo."

At the sound of Dane muttering as if to himself, Greyson's gaze turned to him. Without understanding the situation at all, he watched Dane's back as he walked toward Yeonwoo. Without any hesitation, without any explanation to Greyson.

Despite having been about to kiss just a moment ago.

Greyson simply stood there, unable to comprehend the current situation at all.

"Dane."

Yeonwoo smiled brightly at Dane, who was striding toward him. When Dane, who had approached with his usual swagger, stopped a couple of steps away, Yeonwoo finally spoke.

"It's been a while, have you been well? I didn't expect to meet you in a place like this."

"What brings you to a place like this?"

Yeonwoo was the owner of P Entertainment and the partner of Keith Pitman, who possessed enormous wealth and power. It was surprising that someone like him would appear in such an unremarkable shopping mall. At Dane's question, he smiled, crinkling the corners of his eyes.

"I came to buy this. I heard it's very popular these days."

He demonstratively held up the shopping bag in his hand. When Dane's gaze paused at the unfamiliar logo, Yeonwoo added an explanation.

"It's a dumpling shop around the corner. My brother told me about it, and I bought a lot to eat together. Would you like some? What I bought was the last one."

Yeonwoo cheerfully chattered away and took out a packaged box from the shopping bag, holding it out. As Dane took it, he belatedly said, as if he had just noticed.

"I see you came to buy supplies for Darling."

He was referring to the carrier Dane was holding in his other hand. Dane lowered his gaze in response and then replied with an "Ah."

"The one I was using got torn. Why did you come in person? Instead of having someone else do it?"

At the natural question, Yeonwoo blushed as if embarrassed.

"What's wrong with coming to buy it myself? I can look around the shops and get some fresh air..."

Suddenly, men in suits standing a few steps away from Yeonwoo came into Dane's view. They must be Yeonwoo's bodyguards. To Dane, who immediately made an indifferent expression, Yeonwoo continued.

"Are you done with your business? Darling must be waiting. It's been a long time since I've seen her, is she doing well?"

"Well, so-so."

"That's good..."

What are those bastards doing?

Meanwhile, Greyson, who had been watching them from a distance, could only blink in disbelief. It was such a perfect opportunity, and to have it blown away so absurdly was just frustrating. He couldn't comprehend how this situation had come about.

Why Yeonwoo? And why Dane?

Though he couldn't understand the situation at all, one thing was certain. He couldn't leave Yeonwoo and Dane like that. Greyson didn't waste any more time and walked quickly, almost running, toward them.

"So..."

"Hello, Yeonwoo. It's been a while, have you been well?"

At the voice that suddenly interjected, Yeonwoo, who had been speaking with a smile, froze. Dane and Yeonwoo's gazes simultaneously turned to one spot. There stood Greyson, looking down at Yeonwoo with a bright smile.

"Mi...Mr. Miller? How are you here..."

Yeonwoo blinked, considerably flustered. Dane immediately noticed how he tensed up. After all, his face, which had been comfortably smiling just a moment ago, had stiffened, his complexion had turned pale, and his voice even trembled faintly.

But the man who was clearly the cause continued with an obviously fake smile.

"I've been with Dane all along, didn't you see me? I'm not exactly of a build that goes unnoticed."

Haha! He laughed out loud. Of course, neither Dane nor Yeonwoo laughed. In fact, Greyson didn't feel like laughing at all either. His insides, which had been simmering all along, were now about to boil over.

Seo Yeonwoo. Keith's former secretary and current partner.

Greyson had noticed the subtle tension between them even before they became involved. Having been trained from a young age to detect other people's thoughts and respond accordingly, he could now read even hidden emotions that the person themselves didn't realize, without much effort.

Of course, Keith and Yeonwoo were no exception. He had recognized their feelings much faster than they themselves did. Because of that, he had been inwardly interested in seeing how long Keith would hold out. Though it took longer than expected, the conclusion was as anticipated. And now they had become a more perfect couple than anyone else...

What kind of relationship do these two have?

A deep wrinkle formed between Greyson's brows. Everyone acknowledged that Yeonwoo was quite beautiful. Well, enough to make the once promiscuous Keith Pitman lose his mind.

He wasn't flashy, but he had an elegance that caught the eye, and his long, graceful neck was like a deer's, creating an urge to bite it with bared teeth. His delicate features, with gentle eyes and soft facial lines, were exceedingly neat, but when he let down his guard and smiled, he transformed into a seductress in that moment.

Greyson had once thought that if Yeonwoo set his mind to it, there wouldn't be a man he couldn't bring down. Of course, Keith had scoffed at the time, but he must be regretting it now. Wondering why he hadn't made Yeonwoo his sooner.

Plus, with a slender body that could fit perfectly into Dane's arms, wasn't it all too perfect?

All too naturally, the image of Dane holding Yeonwoo appeared before his eyes. No, how could Yeonwoo's body fit so perfectly into Dane's arms, as if tailored for him?

At that moment, Greyson couldn't hold back and asked.

"How did you two."

"You were together? From earlier? No, you know Dane? Mr. Miller?"

Almost simultaneously, but Yeonwoo threw his questions a bit faster. Greyson, who hesitated for a moment, was replaced by Dane, who opened his mouth.

"We work at the same fire station."

"What? Ah..."

Yeonwoo's eyes widened even more. He looked alternately at Dane and Greyson, fluttering his eyelids as if he couldn't believe it.

"Then, the person who was with Dane earlier was..."

"Yes, it was me."

Greyson answered proudly. Yeonwoo was again at a loss for words. Earlier, due to the distance and his focus on Dane, he hadn't properly identified the other person. Naturally, he hadn't imagined it would be someone he knew, but for this situation to unfold.

My goodness, what is happening?

Feeling even dizzy, he hurriedly fixed his gaze on Dane.

"Ah, um. Well, Dane. Come to think of it, I'd like to see Darling after a long time, can I drop by for a moment? I feel bad that I couldn't see her when she was discharged..."

He clearly wanted to end this situation somehow, but Dane couldn't accommodate him. With an awkward face, scratching the back of his head, he said.

"That's difficult. ...Um, you see..."

Following a short sigh, Dane briefly summarized the situation.

"My house burned down. So I'm currently staying at Miller's house."

Yeonwoo's eyes widened as much as they possibly could. Seeing that reaction, Greyson felt somewhat relieved and regained his composure. Yes, Yeonwoo. Dane is living with me now. So you go back to Keith, hurry.

"Ah... that... how... like that..."

Yeonwoo seemed to have received quite a shock, continuously stammering. Now it was Greyson's turn to ask about their relationship.

...or so he thought, but it wasn't.

"How do you two know each other?"

This time, Dane intercepted his words. Greyson, who pressed his forehead with one hand and let out an exasperated sigh, was replaced by Yeonwoo, who answered.

"Well... Mr. Miller is Keith's friend... so."

"Aah..."

Dane soon understood. Well, they're of the same phenotype, so that's possible. Literally belonging to 'their own league.'

"Then Yeonwoo, let's see each other again next time. I'll enjoy this."

Dane spoke as if to wrap things up at this point. Yeonwoo hurriedly gathered his wits and agreed.

"Ah, yes. Then Dane, I'll contact you."

"Take care."

"Goodbye."

Yeonwoo greeted Dane and then just nodded to Greyson before leaving the place as if fleeing. Greyson glared with dissatisfaction at the slender retreating figure who was walking almost at a run toward where the bodyguards were waiting.

The first to move was Dane. As he casually began walking toward where the car was parked, Greyson quickly caught up and was finally able to voice the question he hadn't been able to ask until now.

"How do you two know each other?"
