Vol 7 Chapter 48
Kapros felt somewhat bewildered seeing this unfamiliar expression on Lucrecian.
'What on earth happened when he met Jeong Seung-jo...'
"Thanks to him, I worked harder on the quest after meeting that man. I suppose I should be grateful for that point. All the other users except him were cute and nice. Ah, including you of course, hyung."
"..."
Just when it seemed he was being serious for a moment, he quickly returned to normal. Though for all that, his dislike of Caesar seemed genuine...
Seeing no reaction from Kapros, Lucrecian shrugged and pushed his fork with a neatly cut piece of bread into his mouth.
"Just when I thought you'd gotten a bit softer, you're still no fun to tease, hyung. After we finish eating, let's go see that Holy Knight quest person. That person should be plenty entertaining."
Though Kapros was more worried about what reaction Kion-hyung would show upon discovering Lucrecian first... But regardless of his inner thoughts, Lucrecian continued enthusiastically leading the conversation by himself. Every time his brilliant hair mixing silver and purple and wine-colored eyes flashed between his hat, Kapros thought he was still someone with overwhelmingly flashy looks.
'And that's with the hat on.'
Through the conversation with Lucrecian, Kapros learned that they had both met all quest users so far, along with various other minor pieces of information. As Lucrecian was rattling off stories from who knows where, he suddenly exclaimed "Ah" as if remembering something.
"Come to think of it, about you and those other people - I hear you haven't visited our guild once since leaving Tolang?"
"...Your guild?"
Ah. He meant that assassin guild that Lucrecian had originally been guild master of before passing it to Sio and moving their base.
"Just, there was no reason to visit."
"Sio was really disappointed. We've grown our influence a lot and now we're even eyeing the information guild sector that NPCs have locked down."
To think they had developed to that extent already. Kapros felt surprised as he recalled Sio's face from long ago. Judging by Lucrecian's mention, was he still connected to that guild to some degree? As if noticing his question, Lucrecian narrowed his eyes visible between his hat and smiled.
"They asked me to at least remain as honorary guild master so I wouldn't cause trouble, so I use them comfortably whenever I need to. So you should feel free to contact them too, hyung."
'Should I say he's still the same... what a guy...'
When Kapros remained silent watching him show no signs of conscience while talking about freely using the guild's abilities despite not being an official member, Lucrecian opened his eyes wide.
"Ah. Come to think of it, did you dislike lack of responsibility? Don't worry. I help them with work when they want too."
"It's all business, business," he said with a smile that was clear and bright without a trace of darkness.
"Enough. I'm done eating."
Kapros lost his appetite and put down his fork.
"Really? I just finished too. Let's pay and go."
Lucrecian responded nonchalantly and stood up. After going outside, while Lucrecian was following, Kapros finally succeeded in dividing the potions between the Ring of Ancient Storage and his item window.
'To think it took this long just to do something so simple.'
"Hyung. Are you going to meet that Holy Knight quest person now? Let me come along."
"Don't you have somewhere to go?"
"Where I want to go is where I should go."
What was he saying... Kapros let out a long breath, gauged the surrounding directions, and headed toward Skaga's temple where Kion-hyung would be waiting. Fortunately, the temple wasn't too far from here.
"Hmm, is this Bala's Temple of Skaga?"
"Yeah. I'm going in first."
Unlike Kapros who had been quite surprised when he first saw it, Lucrecian showed no particular surprise at the temple's shabby exterior.
'Since he knew a lot of minor information, did he already know that Skaga's temple was quite different from its appearance?'
When they opened the door and entered, the massive and majestic temple interior revealed itself as if they had teleported to another place.
"Welcome, Kapros-nim."
iL Drel, the Skaga priest NPC who seemed quite pleased to see him though they had only met twice, approached while greeting them.
"But who is this person behind you?"
"This person is also a companion."
When Kapros quickly answered iL Drel who asked while showing some wariness toward Lucrecian, his expression immediately softened.
"Ah. I see. Welcome. I am iL Drel, servant of Skaga. I will guide you to where the High Priest is waiting. This way."
While they were walking following iL Drel, Lucrecian came close and whispered in a low voice.
"This is much more magnificent than I heard. Being able to stay comfortably with legs stretched out in a place like this, maybe I should have become Skaga's priest too."
"..."
When Kion-hyung had said before that the good thing about becoming High Priest was being able to stay at Skaga's temple for free, Kapros had thought it was quite a useless advantage, but to think there would actually be someone who envied such a thing.
As he was feeling dumbfounded while passing through the spotlessly clean lobby into a smaller interior space, hyung who had been sitting in a chair jumped up with a smile upon seeing Kapros.
"You're here, Kar! But you..."
"It's been a while. You remember me, right?"
Hyung's face, which had dropped open watching Lucrecian smile while speaking with his magnificent face fully revealed after taking off his hat, instantly crumpled.
"How dare you crawl in here? Get out!"
iL Drel standing beside Kapros could be seen flinching in surprise at hyung who shouted as if about to breathe fire.
"Hyung..."
When Kapros called his name and gave him a look meaning to hold back for now no matter how angry he was, Kion-hyung seemed to finally notice iL Drel who was still there and began trying to calm his temper.
"Whew, ha. iL Drel. Thank you for guiding my guests, now go back out and return to your duties."
