Chapter 62 Don't Mess with My Sister
"Do you have no regard for me, your elder sister?" Su Fei reprimanded her incorrigible younger sister, vexation etched on her face. "The moment I take my eyes off you, you go fraternizing with these no-goods."
"Sister, Qin Chao is not one of those no-goods!" The slight inebriation Su Ji had been feeling was tossed as far as Java when she heard these words. She immediately straightened up to defend him, "He has saved me several times. If he is considered a no-good, then there aren't any good people left in this world!"
"Saved you? By getting into fights with hooligans?" Su Fei scoffed coldly. "If he hadn't brought you to a place like East Street, would you have encountered those hooligans? If Jiang Dong hadn't informed me, I wouldn't even know you had ventured here!"
"Jiang Dong, who asked you to interfere!" Su Ji instantly glared at the man in the suit next to her, who slightly bowed and spoke calmly.
"Miss Su, as the steward of the Su mansion, it is my responsibility to ensure the safety of you both."
"I don't need you to be responsible! I'm already twenty years old, I can take care of myself!"
"Nonsense!" Su Fei glared, "Come home with me!"
"No!" Su Ji turned her head stubbornly, leaning against Qin Chao, pouting.
"Will you return or not?" Su Fei was starting to get angry. Her sister had always been obstinate, but never in front of others, or with her.
All this was the fault of that bastard Qin Chao, leading her sister astray!
"If you don't return, then don't acknowledge me as your sister!" Su Fei dropped her ultimatum with finality.
"So be it!" To her surprise, Su Ji had made up her mind too. "You're the one who is wrong this time, sister, and I won't be forced into submission!"
"Look at you, insolent girl, you've grown wings!" Su Fei was so furious that her body trembled, Qin Chao could even discern the hint of moistness in her eyes.
He quickly nudged Su Ji, but the young girl was especially stubborn and wouldn't back down.
"Su Ji, go home with your sister," Qin Chao could only sigh, giving the sisters an out.
"Why?" Su Ji stared at him with her bright, large eyes, "If I leave, what will happen to you?"
She was referring to Qin Chao's cultivation at the stage of Qi Refining.
"Don't worry, even if you're not around, I can manage," Qin Chao assured her with a smile, signaling to Su Ji that everything was okay.
"Jerk, you're driving me away too! Humph, go ahead, from now on, I won't bother about you anymore!" Su Ji seemed angry with Qin Chao, turning around and running out of the pharmacy.
Jiang Dong, the steward, was seemingly worried about mishaps and immediately ran after her.
Su Fei exhaled a cold breath, walking up to Qin Chao, "I'm very disappointed in you."
However, Qin Chao's next sentence left her fuming.
"I'm very disappointed in you too."
With that, Su Fei left, leaving Qin Chao alone with two clerks who had been watching the drama unfold.
"Sir, do you still need the... hangover cure?" one of the clerks asked.
"No need, thank you." Qin Chao waved his hand, exiting the pharmacy.
Outside, the street lights were dim. The night air suddenly felt unusually chilly to Qin Chao. He looked at his trusty bicycle, which, just moments ago, had been carrying a lovely girl. Now, it was just him again.
With Su Ji gone, Qin Chao felt a hollow emptiness in his heart, mixed with a pang of loss. Had he truly fallen for this young girl? He shook his head. Even if he had, the gap between them was too wide, like the distance between heaven and earth. It was an impossibility.
Climbing onto his bicycle, just about to leave, a figure suddenly appeared before him, blocking his path.
"Your name is Qin Chao, correct?"
The figure was none other than Jiang Dong, dressed in a black suit. He was tall and had a certain air of refinement. From the calluses on his hands, it was clear he had practiced martial arts.
"Hmm..." Instead of answering immediately, Qin Chao pulled out a Red River cigarette from his pocket and lit it up. The faint light from the flame illuminated the faces of the two men.
"Want one?" Qin Chao offered, holding out his pack of cigarettes.
Jiang Dong said nothing, refusing the pack. Whether he didn't smoke, or simply didn't care for this brand of cheap cigarettes, Qin Chao didn't know.
"Please keep your distance from Miss Su Ji in the future. If I catch you near her again, I will break your legs," Jiang Dong sternly warned, his brows furrowed as he spoke to Qin Chao, who leisurely puffed on his cigarette.
"Heh, that's big talk." Qin Chao put his lighter back in his pocket, not giving Jiang Dong a direct look, and went on, "People these days always think they know best, not fearing that their tongues might get them in trouble."
A glint of murderous intent flashed in Jiang Dong's eyes. He took a step forward, his right hand forming a palm strike, aimed at Qin Chao's rib cage.
Bagua Palm! As an aficionado of martial arts literature, Qin Chao recognized this stealthy move. If it were to hit him, it would leave him crippled, if not dead.
"Bang!" Qin Chao kicked his bicycle. The sturdy frame of the bike shot out, heading straight for Jiang Dong.
"Break!" Jiang Dong redirected his palm strike, smacking the flying bicycle aside.
A deafening crash echoed as the bike vibrated, slanting and veering off course. Worried his bike might be damaged, Qin Chao quickly darted after it, caught it by the handlebars, and pulled it back, pressing it down onto the ground.
He then climbed back onto his bike, staring coldly at Jiang Dong.
"No wonder you're so confident. You're a practitioner of Bagua Palm."
"I've only learned the basics, but it's enough to deal with you," Jiang Dong retorted with a cold chuckle, charging at Qin Chao again. It seemed he wouldn't be content until he had left Qin Chao crippled.
"Well then, let's see whose basics are better." By this, Qin Chao was referring to his own martial arts training. During his time with Su Ji, he had managed to squeeze in some study of combat and martial arts books.
Su Ji had once told him that traditional martial arts schools strictly forbid their disciples from attacking ordinary people. While those from the path of demonic cultivation were more relaxed, they also refrained from using magic to kill mortals, as it would bring about divine retribution.
Thus, Qin Chao pondered over the martial arts techniques, and developed his own style of combat. Particularly after entering the realm of cultivation, his entire body, the meridians, and bones were all reshaped, making it effortless for him to learn these martial arts.
"Ha!" Jiang Dong bellowed and moved in accordance with the Bagua steps, appearing at Qin Chao's side and aiming a palm strike at his waist. Suddenly, like a lightning bolt, Qin Chao extended his hand to deflect the palm strike and followed with a swift kick to Jiang Dong's chest.
There was a saying, 'Hands are two doors, kicking people depends entirely on the feet.' This kick was solid, Jiang Dong hadn't expected such a counterattack from Qin Chao, thus he was hit.
Even though Jiang Dong's body was well-trained and sturdy, he was still sent flying three to four meters, falling disgracefully onto the ground.
Qin Chao was a cultivator on the verge of entering the Spiritual Consolidation stage, his strength far surpassed that of an ordinary person. Even if Jiang Dong had some skill in the Bagua Palm, he was no match for Qin Chao.
"How is this possible?" Jiang Dong climbed up from the ground, his face covered in dust. His sophisticated appearance, in a western-style suit and leather shoes, was now pitifully disheveled. The aura of a master dissipated, his eyes filled with a hint of panic.
"Who did you learn your martial arts from?" He roared, "Why are you approaching the second young lady, speak!"
"What does it have to do with you?" Qin Chao was still in the midst of smoking his cigarette when he had knocked Jiang Dong to the ground. It seemed there was indeed a great gap between cultivators and martial artists, no wonder people say cultivating immortality is superior.
"Who exactly are you?" Jiang Dong was relentless, he asked again, "I am the steward of the Su family, I must be responsible for the safety of the two young ladies."
"I'm just a common security guard," Qin Chao put out his cigarette, casting a cold glance at Jiang Dong, "Also, keep your sanctimonious words to yourself, when Su Ji was in danger, I didn't see you by her side."
Saying this, he mounted his bike and as he left, he didn't forget to leave a parting remark.
"Also, you are not qualified to protect her."
Watching Qin Chao's retreating figure, Jiang Dong sat on the ground, speechless for a long time.
Meanwhile, in a certain corner of Sunan City, a pale man, his body covered in cold sweat, hung his limp arm by his side and dialed a number on his phone.
"I'm sorry, I've failed again. There is indeed a cultivator by the target's side, I'm not his match."
"It's unexpected to hear the word 'failure' from your mouth again." The man on the other side of the phone spoke with a cold tone, tinged with a hint of anger, "Is this the code of your Yama Sect? To fail repeatedly?"
"Don't worry, I'll launch one last assassination, I won't fail again."
Having said this, Zhou De hung up the phone. Looking at the night sky, a strong killing intent flickered in his eyes.
"It seems I'll have to use the Ghost King one more time."
At the same time, in Las Vegas.
A man in a white suit lounged on a genuine leather couch, a voluptuous woman nestled by his side.
"Mr. Su, the assassin from the mainland has failed again. Are you really considering giving him another chance?"
"Hmph, giving him another chance would be an insult to my intelligence," Mr. Su patted the woman's bottom, saying, "It's all because of that bastard Shen Dong. He introduced me to this guy called Zhou De, said he was a professional assassin, almost always successful. Damn it, what a load of crap. And he's expensive too. Mary, get me in touch with the Skulls, these matters should be left to international assassin organizations. I don't trust this Zhou De."
"Very well, Mr. Su, here's to your success!" The seductive woman twisted her waist and rolled into Mr. Su's arms.
"Hahaha, you little demoness, such sweet words, let me taste if you've smeared honey on them!" Mr. Su's hands started to wander, thoroughly enjoying himself. However, a cold glint flashed in his eyes.
A cultivator? What a load of nonsense. If he couldn't kill, he couldn't kill, using such an idiotic excuse. Once he got in touch with the Skulls, he'd deal with this Zhou De as well, saving himself from future headaches.
‘Su Fei, Su Ji, I refuse to believe your luck can hold out forever!’
After a round of passionate lovemaking, Mr. Su fell into a deep sleep. At this time, Mary quietly slipped off the bed and walked out onto the balcony, completely naked. She dialed a number on her phone.
"Sect Master, Zhou De has been abandoned by Su Yao. Yes, I understand, don't worry, Sect Master…"
