Chapter 21 The Future Star of Sunan City
At Su Fei's request, Qin Chao stood with his worn-out clothes and a large sign bearing the name of Su Ji. Su Fei had also told him through Qin Ling that Su Ji liked flowers, so Qin Chao had bought a flower garland and wore it around his neck before hurrying to the airport.
When Qin Chao stood in the airport terminal, he immediately attracted attention. "Hey, dude, are you here to wait for Chen Xin too?" one fan asked. "Look at this fan, so enthusiastic, wearing a suit of flowers!" another exclaimed.
The group of fans waiting for the singer were shocked by Qin Chao's appearance, suddenly realizing their own lack of enthusiasm in comparison. Compared to Qin Chao, who was wearing a suit of flowers, their own attempts with signs and photos seemed inadequate.
When Qin Chao raised his advertising sign with Su Ji's photo and name on it, the fans were even more amazed. "Wow, who is this star? She's so beautiful! I want her autograph," one fan said.
"Hey, friend, who is this star?" another asked.
"This is the future star of Sunan City!" Qin Chao said loudly, annoyed by their questions and rolling his eyes.
The crowd was stunned into silence. Some had wanted to ask more questions, but seeing Qin Chao's unpleasant expression, they decided to focus on waiting for their big star to arrive.
So Qin Chao proudly held the sign and stood in the airport all afternoon. According to Su Fei's instructions, Su Ji's plane might be delayed, so she asked Qin Chao to wait a little longer. Like a human sculpture, Qin Chao stood motionless with his flowers and sign, waiting for Su Ji until the evening.
"Mom, look!" a sweet, innocent girl's voice floated over. "It's the fairy of flowers!"
"Don't be rude!" a mature woman's voice next to her scolded. "Be polite and call him the flower fairy uncle."
"I know, flower fairy uncle," the little girl said.
Qin Chao turned his head and couldn't help but burst into tears. Wasn't this the cute little girl who had called him the mummy uncle last time? Life was full of coincidences. Qin Chao wanted to rush over and hug the little girl in his arms, teasing her a bit before telling her.
"Little sister, we are so fated, why not get married?" Of course, the outcome may be getting beaten to a disabled state by an enraged mother.
Unable to tolerate the gaze of the crowd, Qin Chao walked over to the consultation desk and asked the beautifully dressed lady, "Excuse me, what time will the XXX flight arrive at the airport?"
"Please wait a moment, sir." The receptionist's voice was very sweet, making Qin Chao feel weak all over. She typed on the computer for a while and then looked up, smiling in a professional manner. "I'm sorry, sir. There is no XXX flight today."
"What?" Qin Chao was stunned, "Really? Can you please check again? Look, I'm dressed up like I'm cosplaying, I'm here to pick someone up."
"Sir, I'm really sorry, there is really no such flight today. There was one yesterday, did you get the dates mixed up?"
"Got the dates mixed up..." these words echoed in Qin Chao's mind. Suddenly, he slapped his thigh and exclaimed, "I'll be damned, I've been fooled by Su Fei's little maid! Damn it!"
Fuming with anger, Qin Chao tore off the flower wreath on himself and looked at the receptionist who was somewhat dazed.
"Beauty, these are for you!" He shoved the pile of flowers onto the counter and immediately grabbed his sign and fled.
The remaining beauties at the airport were dumbfounded, staring at the counter filled with flowers.
"That man is really interesting." The uniformed beauty next to her covered her mouth and chuckled. "Liu Chang, you're lucky this time, there are so many flowers. You can take them back and take a flower bath."
"Xiao Mei, you're making fun of me again." Liu Chang rolled her eyes and said distressedly, "There are so many, hurry up and help me clean up. That guy is so annoying, next time I see him, I'll definitely beat him up."
"heehee, our Liu Chang beauty is also a violent fanatic. But that boy looks pretty good, with a nose and eyes. Shouldn't you consider him?"
"Don't talk nonsense!" Liu Chang rolled her eyes again. "Before I'm thirty, I'm not planning on finding a boyfriend!"
"What? Do you like rough men? The guy just now has a pretty good figure, and he doesn't look like a wimp."
"Go die, you smelly girl..."
Qin Chao was unaware that he was being teased by two beauties. At this moment, he was carrying his sign, riding his bicycle, and rushing towards Guangyuan University. Unfortunately, as a working person, he had been played by his boss. However, the flower money had to be reimbursed by the boss, no matter what.
As the sky darkened and more people left work, Qin Chao slowed down his bike. At that moment, a telephone booth on the side of the street caught his attention. Next to the booth were two men dressed in very strange clothes; one in black and the other in white. Their faces were not visible.
The two men were staring at a woman walking towards the telephone booth. She wore a red coat, a horsehair scarf around her neck, and had a mobile phone in her hand, appearing to complain about something. Qin Chao felt that these two men were abnormal and suddenly increased his speed, driving onto the sidewalk and passing by the woman. He grabbed her phone and continued to flee on his bike.
"Hey, you! Give me back my phone!" The woman was shocked and immediately turned to chase Qin Chao.
Just as the woman left the telephone booth, a large truck suddenly appeared from the corner of the street, like a drunken bull, and crashed into the telephone booth, shattering it. Glass was scattered all over the ground, and the woman was frightened.
After knocking down the booth, the truck finally stopped, leaning to one side. The crowd gathered around to see a drunken man sitting in the truck, his forehead bleeding.
"Now everything's fine. Here's your phone back." Qin Chao breathed a sigh of relief, skidding on his bike to a stop, and then turned around to throw the phone to the dumbfounded woman.
"Who are you?" The woman looked at Qin Chao's back, clutching her phone.
"Lei Feng!" Qin Chao waved his hand very arrogantly and rode away on his bike.
The woman couldn't help but laugh. Who would want to be Lei Feng these days? However, how did he know that something was going to happen at the telephone booth and why did he use this method to warn himself?
It seemed that he was also a practitioner of some sort. Could he have cultivated the Buddhist art of fate, which allows one to predict future events?
Moreover, she vaguely remembered that the man's back seemed familiar, as if she had seen him somewhere before. This aroused her curiosity even more.
"I'll find you for sure!" The woman raised her fist and shouted loudly towards the direction Qin Chao had left.
But after saving the woman, Qin Chao found himself in trouble. While riding his bike, he suddenly felt that something was wrong. He turned his head and saw the man in white sitting on the back seat of his bike.
"Damn it!" Qin Chao was startled and was about to hit the brakes. The man in white behind him suddenly waved his hand, and the bicycle seemed to be controlled by an invisible person, straightened itself, and continued to move forward.
"Who are you?" Qin Chao asked the man in white with a shocked expression.
"I'm more curious about who you are," the man in white said calmly, sitting steadily on the back seat of the bike, his hand stretched out as if controlling the bicycle. His voice was very cold, like frozen cabbage just pulled out of the ice cellar. "I can't believe you can see me."
"You are..." Qin Chao suddenly realized, and his eyes burned with a faint green fire. "No wonder that woman didn't see you, you're from below."
"The demon god Luo De of the Rakshasa Gate!" The man in white suddenly changed his face and his gaze turned from curiosity to fear, then to hostility. "You're that terrible guy!"
The green demon eye was Luo De's unique skill. Legend has it that this demon eye can see through all ghosts and gods. He waved his hand and the bike suddenly turned and rushed into a small alley beside it. There was no one in the alley, and it was full of scattered rubbish. It was probably the back door of the restaurant.
After riding the bike in, the man in white jumped into the air and leaped onto the wall beside him. In his hand was suddenly a black chain, which he coldly stared at Qin Chao below.
"When the demon god appears, blood and rain will fall in the three realms. No wonder so many cultivators have moved, but still can't find you. It turns out you are attached to a human body."
"Sorry, I'm not Luo De." Qin Chao parked his bike, shrugged, and said to the man in white on the wall, "So you're a ghost messenger."
"Hmph, occupying a human body, demon god, come out and die!" The white ghost messenger ignored Qin Chao's words. He swung the chain in his hand, and the front end of the chain was tied with long iron thorns like a venomous snake, biting at Qin Chao below.
"Hey, why don't we just fight?" Qin Chao was a little annoyed. He dodged to the side quickly, and the chain immediately pierced into the wall behind him. Through Luo De's memory, Qin Chao learned that this ghost messenger was the lowest level of the hell class and was responsible for collecting souls on the ground. Their strength was very weak. For the previous Luo De, who had the ability of the Immortal Ascension period, killing them was as simple as cutting a cucumber.
Even for Qin Chao, who was approaching the Qi Refining period, killing this ghost messenger was not a difficult task. But if he did so, it meant that he was officially declaring war on hell.
"What's there to say to the demon god of the Rakshasa Gate?" The ghost messenger was clearly unreasonable. He shook his hand, pulled the chain out of the wall, and swept it toward Qin Chao.
Chapter 22 Little Snake Demon
At this moment, Qin Chao didn't know any magical skills or spells, not even basic combat techniques. However, he was filled with brute force and relied on his childhood experience of street fighting to prepare to beat up this unreasonable ghost messenger.
"Get down!" Qin Chao shouted, and with a strong pull backwards, the ghost messenger was immediately dragged to the ground in a very embarrassing manner.
"Damn it, even if my soul is scattered, I will lock you back in hell!" The ghost messenger bounced up from the ground, his chain in hand, transformed into three and instantly wrapped around Qin Chao's body, trapping him securely.
"You, you!" Qin Chao was angry, "I advised you kindly but you didn't listen. Are you really trying to kill me?"
"Humph, don't pretend!" The ghost messenger sneered, "This Prison Soul Lock was refined from the Hell Ghost Iron, capable of locking up all demons and monsters. Unless you die, you can't escape this chain. Hmph, old ghost, this body isn't your own, let's see how you die."
The smug look of the ghost messenger made Qin Chao somewhat helpless.
His hair instantly turned red, and black scales crawled onto his face. Then, Qin Chao shouted loudly, his arms completely transformed into claws and stretched out.
The chain, which the ghost messenger claimed to be extremely sturdy and unbreakable, was unexpectedly broken in front of his astonished eyes.
"This, this is impossible..." The ghost messenger's eyes widened, staring at Qin Chao, "Could it be, could it be that you are really human?"
The ghost messenger stared at Qin Chao for a while, suddenly realized something, "I know, I know now! So you are a naturally born demonic body! That old demon was actually killed by you, unbelievable, unbelievable!"
"Yes, he is indeed a naturally born demonic body!" Just then, a white figure suddenly leapt down from the nearby rooftop. When she arrived in front of Qin Chao, he finally saw that it was a woman wearing a white robe, holding an ancient long sword in her hand, and stabbing it towards Qin Chao.
But Qin Chao stood still and watched the long sword pierce in front of him.
"Yu Qian? You're still alive?"
"Stop!" Just as the long sword was about to pierce Qin Chao's chest, a colorful sleeve appeared out of nowhere, wrapped around Yu Qian's body, and pushed her aside.
Meanwhile, a woman dressed in a colorful robe floated over like a fairy, with a fragrant scent filling the air as she drifted towards Qin Chao. "Don't worry, sir, Hua Niang won't let Jiaojiao harm you," she said.
Qin Chao had seen this woman during the day. She had a youthful face and an ample bosom that pushed against the fabric of her colorful clothes. She called herself Hua Niang and had said some strange things during the day.
"Jiaojiao?" Qin Chao looked at the woman in white standing next to him, who looked exactly like Yu Qian, but with a completely different demeanor. Yu Qian exuded a suppressed aura, making her seem introverted. The woman before him, however, had a rustic aura and a seductive charm. Especially her waist, which was so soft it seemed to have no bones, making him want to embrace and knead it.
Just as Qin Chao was questioning the identities of these two women, a ghostly guard suddenly spoke up. "Who are you? Oh, you're two snake demons. Are you not afraid of incurring the wrath of cultivators by recklessly entering human society?"
"Hmph, what business is it of yours, you half-human, half-ghost creature?" The white-clothed snake demon furrowed her brows and scolded, her hand releasing a white spell. The white light transformed into dozens of white snakes that rushed out, entangling the ghostly guard.
Hua Niang's face turned pale as she exclaimed, "Jiaojiao, how dare you attack a ghostly guard!" She was agitated and her colorful sleeves flew out, smashing the group of snakes on the ghostly guard's body. The ghostly guard was surprised and took several steps back, shouting, "You two snake demons dare to attack a ghostly guard? I'll report you to Yan Luo and have the two of you sent to hell by Wu Chang!"
"You arrogant little ghostly guard!" The white snake demon was not polite and threw the sword in her hand. The sword was made from the golden horn of a white snake that had been cultivated for five hundred years and was extremely powerful. It impaled the ghostly guard on the wall.
"Hmph, let me scatter your ugly soul!" The white snake demon obviously intended to eliminate the ghostly guard. She flicked her finger, forming a spell that activated the sword's attack magic.
"Jiaojiao, don't!" Hua Niang stepped in front of the ghostly guard, blocking the white snake demon's attack with her colorful sleeves. They acted as a barrier, stopping the white snake demon's advance.
"Sister, why are you always against me?" The white snake demon complained.
"I don't want to see you causing a karmic debt and incurring heavenly punishment!" Hua Niang had a concerned expression on her face as she shook her breasts, causing Qin Chao to feel a bit dizzy.
"Sister, you are truly stubborn!" scolded Bai Jiaojiao. "As long as we kill this natural demon, take his demon pill, we can cultivate into immortals and no longer have to worry about those annoying cultivators. Then we sisters can live freely and no longer be bound by them."
"Jiaojiao, those are all demonic thoughts. This is the hurdle you must overcome after five hundred years of cultivation. You must cross it," Hua Niang urged anxiously.
"What demonic thoughts? Sister, I think it's your stubbornness that's the problem!" Bai Jiaojiao said, her fingers flashing with white light as several white snakes emerged and bit at Qin Chao.
Qin Chao was startled. Although he wasn't afraid of these long creatures, the sudden appearance of so many long, soft things that spat out threads from their mouths was still somewhat creepy. The white snakes quickly crawled up Qin Chao's body. The feeling of being entwined by snakes made Qin Chao's scalp tingle.
"Damn it, get off!" Qin Chao reached out and grabbed a white snake, which immediately opened its mouth and bit his hand. But Qin Chao's current hand was covered in black scales and was not afraid of the snake's teeth at all.
Sure enough, the white snake's sharp teeth were shattered and it fell out of Qin Chao's hand, limp and lifeless.
"Jiaojiao, you have gone too far!" Hua Niang immediately swung her sleeve, her multicolored sleeve becoming like a canvas and slapping Qin Chao. Qin Chao felt no pain, but he smelled a tempting fragrance. Meanwhile, the white snakes were shaken off his body and fell to the ground, writhing in pain.
"Sister, don't stop me!" Bai Jiaojiao rushed towards Qin Chao, but Hua Niang stood in front of her. The two clashed for dozens of moves, clanging and clashing. Bai Jiaojiao grew furious and shouted, "Sister, why are you helping these people? We've been sisters for hundreds of years, why won't you help me?"
"Jiaojiao, I am helping you!" Hua Niang's Cloud and Brocade Sleeve technique was a move from a prestigious school, powerful and mighty. Furthermore, her cultivation was three hundred years higher than Bai Jiaojiao's, so it didn't take long for Bai Jiaojiao to show signs of defeat.
"Hmph!" Bai Jiaojiao snorted, and suddenly leapt onto the wall. "Since sister insists on protecting this demonic person, I'll come back for him later. Let's see how long you can protect him, sister! Hmph!"
With that, her body transformed into a white light, ready to leave.
But at that moment, Qin Chao, who had been motionless, suddenly picked up the soul lock that the ghost messenger had dropped on the ground and hurled it towards the white light. The soul lock was very intelligent, almost with a will of its own, and instantly wrapped around the white light's body.
"Ouch!" With a cry of pain, Bai Jiaojiao suddenly appeared in human form, the soul lock wrapped around her waist, as Qin Chao pulled her down and slammed her onto the ground.
"My lord, what are you doing?" Hua Niang was startled. Although Bai Jiaojiao had already reached the Foundation Establishment stage in her cultivation, she was suddenly restrained by the Soul-Locking Shackles, a devilish instrument forged from the iron of the underworld. For a moment, she was unable to break free. She struggled a bit, but the shackles only grew tighter, constricting around her body, revealing her devilishly perfect figure.
Bai Jiaojiao wriggled on the ground like a snake. Well, she was a snake originally.
"I don't care if you're a snake demon or a cat demon," Qin Chao pointed to Bai Jiaojiao, who was bound on the ground, and said coldly, "But this skin must be changed! The dead take precedence over the living, and I won't allow you to use Yu Qian's appearance."
"Why should I?" Bai Jiaojiao stared with her eyes wide open and shouted, "I can change into whoever I like. What business is it of yours?"
"Hmph!" Qin Chao snorted, and with a flick of his arm, the chains rattled loudly, lifting Bai Jiaojiao up and crashing her against the wall. The wall collapsed, leaving a large hole.
"If you want to take my life, go ahead!" Green flames erupted in Qin Chao's eyes, making Bai Jiaojiao feel a little uneasy, "But change your face for me right away!"
"My lord, please don't be angry!" Bai Jiaojiao seemed to want to argue back, but Hua Niang immediately cast a spell to seal her mouth. Then, she bowed to Qin Chao and said, "My lord, please release my junior sister. I promise to fulfill your request."
With that, she reached out and touched Bai Jiaojiao's face. Like magic, the face that had just looked exactly like Yu Qian's was suddenly altered. Although it still bore some resemblance, it was essentially a different person.
"My lord, is this good enough?" Hua Niang asked busily.
"Yes." Qin Chao didn't want to push too hard. Besides, as fellow snake demons, Hua Niang's snake quality was quite good. It wasn't good to belittle her, so he withdrew the Soul-Locking Shackles.
As soon as Bai Jiaojiao was released, she burst into tears.
"Sister, how could you help an outsider? I hate you!" With that, the white snake turned into a white light and disappeared in an instant.
"Excuse me, Lord Qin." Hua Niang smiled wryly and cast a spell at the dumbfounded ghost envoy, retracting the sword that was pinned to him. She turned around and said to Qin Chao, "My lord, forgive me for the inconvenience. I'll teach my junior sister well when we get back. Farewell."
With that, she turned into a colorful light and chased after the white snake.
