Chapter 60

Though he flinched in surprise, the man soon smiled brightly, but Dane just turned his eyes away. The man slumped his shoulders in disappointment, but Dane didn't look at him again.

Today is really not my day.

When there was a partner who matched his taste, he couldn't take them, and in the opposite case, there was no need to give any attention at all. Rejecting the three perfect women earlier was literally something he had done reluctantly. He had his own standards when dealing with women. Namely, not doing it in foul places like bathrooms. When there wasn't time to go home and roll around, he would sometimes resolve things quickly in a bathroom, but the problem was that they were women. He didn't want to take a woman, let alone three, to a dirty bathroom to do that. He shouldn't do that.

So the remaining option was to find a suitable man, resolve the issue, and return home. To where Darling was waiting.

It was while thinking this and looking around again.

Unexpectedly, he made eye contact with Greyson Miller. His position, standing side by side at the bar, was quite far from Dane. Dane had deliberately avoided him, but Greyson also didn't particularly try to be close to him. Thanks to that, they had maintained an appropriate distance...

The problem was that Greyson didn't stop there. He approached with a beer bottle and spoke to Dane.

"Hello."

It was a simple greeting, but Dane just drank his beer instead of answering. He was showing through his actions that he didn't want to deal with him. As expected, Greyson completely ignored it.

"What are you looking for? I hope it's not a person."

"Someone suitable to fuck."

Dane answered without bothering to choose his words. He glanced at him only after that.

"Not you."

"Ahahaha."

Greyson suddenly burst into laughter. What's with this crazy guy? Dane frowned and looked at him, then quickly withdrew his gaze. Despite repeatedly expressing his intention not to deal with him at all, he was indeed not someone who would understand.

"Dane, I'm curious about something."

Dane didn't even respond. But Greyson continued speaking as he pleased.

"Is there a need to change partners so frequently like this? You're not even a phenotype that needs to regulate pheromones."

"......"

"Hmm?"

"......"

"Hmm?"

"......"

"Hmm?"

"......"

"Hmm?"

"...fuck!"

With no sign of him backing down, Dane finally cursed.

"I do it because I want to, because sex is good! Are you satisfied now? Get lost, stop being a nuisance!"

"Wow."

At Dane's rough shout, Greyson raised both hands defensively with an exclamation. Of course, it wasn't out of fear or embarrassment. It was just the result of learning.

As expected, seeing Greyson's face that soon broke into a smile, Dane turned his head away as if disgusted. Greyson, who had let out a short laugh, stared at Dane drinking his beer and then bent his waist. He whispered close enough for his breath to touch.

"You're an Omega, aren't you?"

The loud music continued. Despite the noise being so loud that people's voices wouldn't reach the ears unless they shouted, Greyson was confident. That Dane had clearly heard what he said.

Slowly, Dane turned his gaze. To him, who was looking at him with an expressionless face, Greyson smiled brightly. And then.

Smash!

Following the loud noise, Greyson felt a dull pain in his head.

...Huh.

Something sticky was flowing down his temple. When he unconsciously touched it and looked down, his palm was soaked with bright red fluid. And in front of him, Dane was glaring at him with a grim face, holding a broken beer bottle. Only then did Greyson realize that this man had broken his head with the beer bottle he had been drinking from.

"...Ha."

An incredulous sigh escaped from Greyson's lips.

"This crazy bastard..."

"Look who's talking, the crazier bastard."

Dane, who immediately retorted, threw a punch, and Greyson also struck back at him. People screamed and scattered everywhere at the sudden riot.

"Dane!"

"Dane, my God! What are you doing!"

Colleagues who had come together shouted from all directions and rushed in. They were beating each other to a pulp until their colleagues urgently separated Dane and Greyson.

♬♪♪♩♬♪.....

At the familiar ringtone, Joshua looked for his mobile phone and checked the caller.

Dane? What's going on?

It hadn't been long since they had talked. Moreover, since the result of the last call wasn't very good, he hadn't expected to be contacted again so quickly. They were definitely not the type to talk frequently, so he tilted his head and pressed the call button.

"Dane, hello. How have you been? What's the occasion?"

- How long?

Dane asked abruptly without any greeting. At the sudden question, Joshua hesitated, and Dane asked the same question again.

- How long are you going to keep that bastard? I'd like it to be long.

"Who? ...Oh, Chase's brother? Didn't you say you wouldn't do it?"

To Joshua, who asked in confusion, Dane quickly continued.

"I decided to do it. So tell me, how long are you going to keep him?"

"Uh..."

Joshua paused for a moment to adapt to the current situation and then answered.

"Well, about three days?"

For Joshua, who had been thinking of at most a day, or as little as half a day, that was the best he could offer. After all, that would be enough time for Chase to teach Greyson a lesson. But Dane wasn't very satisfied.

- That's too short... How about a month?

"A month?"

Joshua, surprised, unconsciously raised his voice. But Dane didn't stop there and asked again.

- No, a month is too short. At least 6 months would be good. How about 11 months and 29 days? That wouldn't be bad either?

"Wait, Dane. Just wait a minute."

Joshua interrupted him, seemingly flustered. After a short sigh in between, Joshua continued carefully.

"I'm a bit confused right now... Are you saying you want me to kidnap and imprison Greyson Miller? For almost a year?"

Of course, that would be impossible. Dane coolly accepted reality and backed down a step.

- I was just thinking that since we're doing it anyway, we should imprison him for at least that long. How long do you think would be enough?

"Ah."

Only then did Joshua seem to understand somewhat and returned to his usual tone.

"No, it's not going to be that long. Half a day or at most a day is enough for us."

- Hmm.

Dane made a sound of dissatisfaction. Joshua's courage seemed much smaller than he had thought.

Or am I going too far?

"Dane, Dane?"

Joshua called his name from the other end. Soon emerging from his thoughts, Dane answered as usual.

- Yeah, what.

"I was wondering why your mind changed so suddenly."

Joshua continued.

"Didn't you say no last time? That was a week ago, what happened in the meantime? Is Darling very sick?"

- No, it's not that. Darling is doing well.

Such a question from Joshua was very natural. Dane, who immediately told him about the cat's condition, added while rubbing his forehead with his finger.

- I just changed my mind. When are you going to execute it?

"Did you meet that bastard by any chance?"

Joshua suddenly hit the mark. Dane hesitated, caught off guard by the unexpected direct hit, and as if he had seen it, Joshua's voice carried laughter.

"I see, so that means Greyson is working at your fire station? How is it?"

He would already know the answer. Dane changing his mind in just two days and coming forward so actively to cooperate meant that there had been tremendous incidents in between. As expected, Dane paused and then let out a deep "haa" sigh.

- I would sell my soul to the devil if I could get rid of that bastard from my sight.

"It's not worth going that far, Dane."

Joshua thoughtfully comforted him. It was unfortunate for Dane, but anyway, it was a good opportunity for him.

- What are you going to do now? You have a plan, right?

To Dane's urging question, Joshua answered, "Of course."

"You just need to bring that bastard to the place I told you."

- And then you'll shoot him in the head?

Dane said as if very satisfied. Unfortunately, Joshua couldn't grant his wish.

"No, no. That can't happen. I can't become a criminal."

- Kidnapping is also a crime.

At Dane's point, Joshua immediately changed his words.

"Oh, this isn't kidnapping, Dane. It's simply bringing him in briefly for a conversation."

Dane looked down at his mobile phone with a frowning face and then brought it back to his ear. From the other end, Joshua's calm voice continued.

"It's just that the conversation will be with fists instead of words. Sometimes with feet too."

- Sounds good.

Dane immediately responded.

- Include me in that conversation too.

He added through clenched teeth.

- Because I want to have a very long and deep talk.

Joshua promised to do so and ended the call with a final word that they would meet to work out the specific plan.
