Chapter 55 The Arrogant Club President

Ever since Qin Chao was falsely accused and thrown into the police station, the following few days had been relatively calm. Qin Chao etched the debt he owed to Li Chao deep in his heart, vowing to repay him one day.

Every day, Su Ji would assist Qin Chao, attempting to guide him toward the stage of Spiritual Consolidation. However, Qin Chao was utterly determined to visualize the great demon lord, Luo De. This made Su Ji simultaneously exasperated at Qin Chao's foolishness and admire his stubbornness.

Su Fei seemingly had no idea her sister was living at Qin Chao's place. She had been swamped with work recently. Thanks to her diverse efforts, the Department of Education had finally decided to select Guangyuan International School of Economics as a pilot for the international academic exchange program. They planned to bring some students from foreign universities to Guangyuan as exchange students.

At the same time, Guangyuan students could also study abroad as part of the exchange. This could potentially raise Guangyuan's reputation, possibly catapulting it into the ranks of second-tier universities.

Thus, Su Fei had no energy left to deal with her peculiar little sister. And Su Ji was also keeping busy.

Qin Chao, being a lowly security guard, had no way of knowing what Su Ji was busy with every day. All he knew was that when he picked her up from work each day, she was always exhilarated. When they returned home, she often blared music loudly from her bedroom, acting as though spring had arrived.

Whenever he asked her about it, Su Ji would just laugh and say nothing. "You're too young to understand. This is youth!" she would say, or she would utter such strange remarks.

Thinking about this, Qin Chao would just shrug helplessly, leaning against the security station's gate, smoking. Lately, he'd been struggling to control his nicotine cravings, always wanting to smoke. Normally, under the watchful eye of Director Wang, smoking on duty was prohibited for the security staff. But Qin Chao was the lone exception.

"Really, hiding here to smoke!" Suddenly, a pretty young girl dressed in a white blouse and blue jeans appeared, her hands on her hips as she stood in front of Qin Chao.

"Hmph, I'll dock your wages on behalf of Director Su! Or you can just treat me to a meal!"

"Hu Lili," Qin Chao extinguished his cigarette, gazing at the somewhat impudent girl before him. "I've only been working for a few days, and haven't even received my first month's salary yet. How am I supposed to treat you to a meal?"

"Well, I don't care. Either that or I'll report you to Director Wang," Hu Lili threatened.

"Go on then, you little tattletale," Qin Chao waved her off dismissively. "The security office is to the left inside, the first large office is his. But knock before entering. Our security director tends to discuss 'life problems' with the security team leader in his office."

"Tch! Like I would!" The girl's attitude switched instantly. "You HAVE to treat me to a meal!"

"Alright, Lili, stop pestering him." Just then, Fang Wen's gentle voice rang out. The refined girl, dressed in a white long skirt, stood before the two like an untainted fairy emerging from the muck.

"Big Brother Qin Chao saved my life, it should be me who treats him to a meal," Fang Wen said, casting a grateful glance at Qin Chao. Something complicated lurked in the depths of her eyes. "What would you like to eat, Big Brother Qin Chao?"

"Enough with the meals," Qin Chao patted Fang Wen's shoulder. "It's so boring to eat all the time. As long as you're fine, that's what matters. Meals and such are just formalities; they can become tedious if repeated too often."

"Oh..." Fang Wen lowered her head, seeming a bit dejected.

Qin Chao didn't notice Fang Wen's change in mood, but Hu Lili, who was standing nearby, did. The girl had an idea. "In that case, how about we invite you to watch us dance?"

"Dance?" Qin Chao touched his nose. "An exotic dance?"

"Exotic? More like a strip dance!" Hu Lili retorted, clearly irritated by Qin Chao's frivolity.

"Oh? Does our school really have such exciting entertainment?"

"Drop dead!" Hu Lili seemed about to burst a vein in her forehead, much to the amusement of Fang Wen, who was trying to suppress her laughter.

"Big Brother Qin Chao, here's the deal," Fang Wen explained, delighting in seeing her best friend, Hu Lili, at a loss for words for the first time. "Our school is expecting exchange students, and we're also preparing for the annual campus celebration. Our dance club is required to perform two routines. We're currently rehearsing a passionate dance, not an exotic dance."

"That's right, everyone wears very little!" Hu Lili winked and gave Qin Chao a teasing look. "Tank tops, short skirts. Would you like a sneak peek?"

"The clothes might be a bit much, but I suppose I could force myself to take a look," Qin Chao replied, playing the typical role of someone who profits and then pretends to be reluctant. This earned him a big eye-roll from Hu Lili.

"Big Brother Qin Chao, come with us quickly."

The two girls led the way. With the special campus celebration coming up, all the clubs at the school were bustling with activity. As a purely performance-based club, the dance club was no exception. The school had given them a large gymnasium for their rehearsals.

However, the gymnasium had served as a storage room for a while, filled with wooden racks and sports equipment. The dance club's members had been quite busy cleaning it up.

The only downside to the vast school was the amount of time wasted walking around. It took the two girls and Qin Chao more than ten minutes to reach their dedicated club activity room.

"Ah, finally, our two princesses have returned!"

Standing at the classroom door was a tall boy with a well-built physique, who spoke to Fang Wen and Hu Lili in a somewhat discontented tone. "Everyone has been rehearsing for half a day. We were just missing you two. We must make this event a success. The school has set a hard target."

"We know, Mr. President," Fang Wen nodded in response.

"Don't worry, we've performed countless times over the past three years. There won't be any problems," Hu Lili added in a nonchalant manner.

"You're the one who's always causing trouble!" The president of the dance club glared at Hu Lili, then his eyes landed on the man accompanying her, Qin Chao, and he froze for a moment.

"Excuse me, this classroom has been officially assigned to us by the school. We have the rights to use it," he said.

Apparently, the club president had mistaken Qin Chao for a security guard sent to evict them and clean the room.

"You can keep dancing, I'm just here to watch," Qin Chao clarified.

"That won't do!" The club president's face hardened instantly, and he said coldly, "The dance club's rehearsals are not open to the public. I'm sorry, but you'll have to leave."

"Hey, Sun Xiaofeng, what do you think you're doing?" Hu Lili wasn't going to let it slide. The fiery young woman crossed her arms, stood in front of the club president, and spoke with an aggressive tone, "So, being a club president makes you a big deal, huh? You dare to stop my friend. Do you believe me if I say I'm quitting the dance club?"

"You, Hu Lili, you..." Sun Xiaofeng gasped. Hu Lili was one of the key members of the dance club. If she quit, it would definitely impact the upcoming performance.

"That's not good, Lili!" Fang Wen chimed in.

Sun Xiaofeng sighed in relief. Fang Wen was always the reasonable one. But to his surprise, she continued, "If you're not dancing, then what am I supposed to do? Guess I'll quit too."

"You two! Do you even consider me your president?" Sun Xiaofeng put on his authoritative club president air, speaking sternly, "Believe it or not, I will criticize you both in front of the entire club!"

"Who cares about the president!" Hu Lili rolled her eyes, "We're all third-year students here; we all know each other. Go ahead, criticize. I'll just quit the club!"

"Let's quit together then," Fang Wen agreed.

Sun Xiaofeng was fuming, his chest heaving like a bellows.

"Quit, quit, quit if you want! I don't believe I can't handle the two of you!"

He stood his ground at the classroom door, declaring, "Today, I will stand here. Except for the dance club members, no one else is allowed in! If I see anyone trying to get in, I'll break his legs!"

"Hah!" Qin Chao chuckled, "Impressive. A dance club president with such a big mouth."

No wonder Chen Yingyang had said Guangyuan School was full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers, students with powerful connections and backgrounds. This Sun Xiaofeng seemed to be one of them. But to Qin Chao, who dared to mess with even Fang Hua, what did it matter?

Fang Hua was dead. He had made enemies with Chen Si and was being watched by Li Chao. However, as the saying goes, lice won't itch when they're numerous. After all, Qin Chao was a lone ranger and an independent cultivator, what did he have to fear?

He walked up to Sun Xiaofeng and asked, "So you're saying if I step over this line, you'll break my leg, correct?"

"Correct!" Sun Xiaofeng, tall and trained in Taekwondo, spoke defiantly, "Just so you know, I have a black belt in Taekwondo. If you get hurt, don't blame me for being ruthless!"

"Good." Qin Chao nodded. Under Sun Xiaofeng's watchful eyes, he calmly stepped into the classroom.

He didn't forget to turn around and beckon to Sun Xiaofeng, "I'm in. Your turn."

"Damn it, you're asking for death!" Sun Xiaofeng was completely enraged. He lifted his right leg and delivered a fast, ruthless roundhouse kick toward Qin Chao's head.

"Oh, I thought you were going for my legs. Why the change of target? You don't keep your word, do you?" Qin Chao simply swiveled his body slightly, easily dodging Sun Xiaofeng's kick.

The president of the dance club had indeed not wasted his time studying Taekwondo. His roundhouse kick landed on the wooden door frame next to Qin Chao. The frame, built from old, aged wood, cracked under his powerful blow, sending splinters flying everywhere.

"Ah!" Hu Lili and Fang Wen both cried out in shock, with Hu Lili even shouting angrily, "Sun Xiaofeng, have you lost your mind?"

"You brazen woman, get out of the way!" Sun Xiaofeng was fuming at Hu Lili, but no matter how shameless he was, he wouldn't hit a woman.

But that annoying security guard, if he didn't break his teeth today, he would no longer be named Sun!

"Ha!" With that thought, Sun Xiaofeng spun around for a side kick. His Adidas-clad foot shot towards Qin Chao.

Then, an astonishing scene unfolded. Fang Wen, who had originally been standing behind Hu Lili, suddenly darted forward, putting herself between Qin Chao and Sun Xiaofeng.
