Chapter 13: Scared? Frightened?

In the third-floor office of the Su family garbage yard's main building, Su Tianyu bent to sit in a chair, asking softly: "Big Brother, what's the situation with the workers?"

"One serious injury each from the Bai and Kong families, both team leaders - their legs were completely smashed, and they were stabbed too," Su Tiannan replied with slightly furrowed brows. "The injuries are very serious, they're still not completely out of danger."

"Has the news spread?" Su Tianyu immediately asked.

"Many of the workers who were striking together must know by now, because they did it right next to the Sanitation Management Department, and quite a few people saw it," Su Tiannan replied. "However, I called Bai Hongbo and Kong Zhenghui, they said they're trying their best to pacify the workers."

Su Tianyu nodded hearing this.

"Little Brother, thankfully you warned us about this, so we had Tianbei manage the workers in advance, providing transportation and moving in groups, otherwise they might have targeted our team leaders first," Su Tiannan said with lingering fear. "But our situation isn't good now. With Li Gang and He Daming beaten like this, Bai Hongbo and Kong Zhenghui definitely can't completely contain the news from leaking, and once the workers below lose confidence, it probably won't be so easy to get people to protest at the Management Department entrance tomorrow."

"If it's not easy, then let's not do it," Su Tianyu replied softly.

"What do you mean?" Su Tiannan didn't immediately understand his meaning.

"Stopping the strike tomorrow can effectively solve two problems," Su Tianyu said concisely. "First, it lets Changqing's side think they did the right thing, that the workers are scared and don't dare make trouble with the four companies anymore, so they'll continue making moves. Second, as you said, with two workers attacked, it will definitely affect the moods of the workers below. If you still try to get everyone to make trouble at the Sanitation Management Department tomorrow, the workers will definitely resist. If arguments break out then, things could get very ugly."

Su Tiannan instantly understood his brother's meaning: "You mean...?"

"Call Bai Hongbo, Kong Zhenghui, and Old Liu, tell them not to gather people at the Management Department tomorrow, but instead watch their own side, especially at home," Su Tianyu walked to his big brother's side and whispered in his ear: "Looking at it from Changqing Company's perspective, the solution to this matter isn't entirely about the workers. Because whether they protest, strike, or shout slogans, it's all backed by the four companies' money and effort. The root of the problem is that as long as our four families still want to resist, this matter won't end, understand?"

Su Tiannan immediately asked in response: "Then why did they still attack these two workers?"

"Hehe," Su Tianyu grinned.

Before he could answer, Su Tiannan also realized: "The Sanitation Management Council is under too much pressure, so they must resolve the strike and protest issue."

"Exactly," Su Tianyu nodded slowly.

"Alright, I understand your meaning, I'll call Kong Zhenghui now," Su Tiannan immediately took out his phone and dialed Kong Zhenghui's number.

Su Tianyu sat in his chair drinking tea, very quietly.

About five minutes later, Su Tiannan hung up the phone and looked at Tianyu somewhat strangely saying: "Guess what Kong Zhenghui said?"

"What did he say?" Su Tianyu asked.

"He has the same thought as you, also planning not to make trouble at the Management Department tomorrow," Su Tiannan replied softly.

Su Tianyu was also surprised: "What else did he say?"

"He said he's contacted some city media, told us to keep quiet and wait for him to finish."

"...!" Su Tianyu blinked and replied softly: "This Kong Zhenghui sees things quite clearly, he's also been waiting all along. This is quite good, at least among these three companies, they're not all useless teammates."

Su Tiannan had a steady and kind personality. In some matters, it wasn't that he wasn't smart, but that he instinctively wouldn't think in other directions. But now he also understood that when Su Tianyu had previously actively tied the four companies together and suggested organizing strikes and making noise, those were all just triggers and groundwork.

"Big Brother, you should keep in contact with Wang Daolin, invite him out for tea and chat when you're free," Su Tianyu looked up and added. "Since Kong Zhenghui has the same view as us, let's do it this way - stop the strike tomorrow, but still don't resume work."

"Alright."

"You need to be extra careful these next two days," Su Tianyu warned.

"You're the one who should...!"

"It's fine, I'll just stay at the factory, no need to go home," Su Tianyu waved his hand, cutting off his big brother's words.

......

The night passed without incident. Early the next morning.

In Dragon City's Sanitation Management Council headquarters, Zheng Fu'an, responsible for Zha'nan District work, arrived at work on time as usual, but today as soon as he entered his office, his secretary immediately came in saying: "Director Zheng, Zha'nan Management Department called to say all the striking troublemakers have dispersed, there's not a single person at the front gate."

"Really?" Zheng Fu'an sat in his chair happily holding his wolfberry tea and asked: "They've quieted down?"

"Yes, they've quieted down," the secretary nodded with a smile.

"Hehe, that's good," Zheng Fu'an nodded lightly and replied: "Carry on with normal work then."

"Yes sir," the secretary turned to leave.

Zheng Fu'an, with a smile on his lips, took out his personal phone and walked to the window to dial Changqing Company boss Li Hongze's number.

"Hello? Old Zheng."

"You resolved the problem very quickly. Old Li, you've really pulled me off the hot seat," Zheng Fu'an gave Li Hongze a veiled compliment.

"You just took office, I definitely couldn't let you suffer!" Li Hongze replied domineeringly. "Three days at most, the problem will be completely resolved."

"Very good, keep it steady, don't cause chaos," Zheng Fu'an reminded appropriately.

"Lu Feng said everything is being done with the purpose of supporting you, hahaha!" Li Hongze replied laughing.

"Lu Feng is quite good too. If things go smoothly, let him handle the four companies' territory."

"I'll consider it."

"Good, that's it then, I have a meeting."

"Mm, that's it."

After ending the call, Li Hongze sat in his company boss chair and dialed Lu Feng's number again: "Busy?"

"Treated guests last night, donated several hundred million again, hehe, my waist and back are sore," Lu Feng replied lazily.

"The workers didn't strike today, but Old Zheng is still not quite satisfied. He hopes to resolve the remaining matters quickly."

"These leaders, they say one word and we below have to run our legs off," Lu Feng said exasperatedly. "Damn it, the strike hasn't even been four days total and we've already resolved the problem, how much faster does he want?"

"He just took office, it's normal to be a bit anxious," Li Hongze replied calmly.

"I've already arranged it, doing it tonight."

"Keep it steady!"

"Don't worry, it's old hat."

"Alright then," Li Hongze hung up the phone.

......

During the day, Kong Zhenghui was busy running media relationships, while Bai Hongbo, Old Liu and others were busy pacifying workers. Overall, the four families' situation looked more dangerous.

At this critical moment, Su Tianyu still idly stayed at the garbage yard wandering around, even unhurriedly and calmly looking at civil service exam requirements.

Time flew to after eight in the evening, with the silver moon hanging high outside and bright stars.

After showering in the main building's rest room, Su Tianyu actively called Tianbei: "Where are you, Second Brother?"

Downstairs, Black Iron Tower Wu Shixiong looked at Third Sister with excited eyes and asked: "You... you're not going home? Th-th...!"

"Oh my, speak slower," Third Sister replied in a clear voice. "I left something at the factory, came back to get it."

Outside the factory, three beat-up American vans approached slowly. In the front passenger seat of the lead van sat the man in the floral shirt who had smashed four legs with a hammer.
