Vol 1 Chapter 32
His speech had suddenly become informal, but since his previous polite speech wasn't that courteous in tone anyway, there wasn't much difference. The situation was urgent, so Kapros also didn't have time to use lengthy polite speech. He quickly racked his brain. If it was magic with high damage, of course it would be the 4th circle attack magic he had recently mastered. But it also took a lot of time!
"I need time! Can you buy enough?"
As Kapros shouted, Yu-wan stopped dodging and stood boldly facing the skeleton's enormous arm swinging down at him, shouting:
"Who do you think I am!"
Bang!
With an explosion of dust, the impact blew off Kapros's hood. When he removed his arm from shielding his face, what Kapros saw was Yu-wan blocking the skeleton's incredibly thick arm bone with a single sword. Although he had distributed the weight by supporting the back of the blade with his free hand, he couldn't completely avoid the impact, as evidenced by the torn and bleeding skin. Still, judging by his unwavering arm, he didn't seem to be in a dangerous state, which was fortunate.
"Hmm..."
As Kapros was watching the scene with a groan, he heard Coolt, who had been clutching his most severely torn abdominal wound as if waiting for death, muttering from behind.
"That, that's... aura..."
Aura?
At those words, Kapros looked at Yu-wan's sword and indeed saw a faint blue energy enveloping the blade. Aura, or sword energy, was an advanced technique that only swordsmen who had trained to a certain level could use.
"This can't be..."
Coolt continued to stare at it with eyes wavering between surprise and bewilderment. Then, as if sensing Kapros's gaze, he turned his head, and for a moment wore an expression as if looking at a stranger, which made Kapros puzzled until he remembered what had happened earlier and understood.
'Ah. My hood came off.'
Moreover, having been grazed by stone fragments shattered by the explosion's aftermath, covered in dust, and with clothes soaked in blood, his whole body was obviously severely dirty. Quickly turning his head away from him, Kapros looked back to the front.
At that moment, while Yu-wan was blocking the Lord Skeleton, Kapros noticed the Lord Ghoul swinging its arm to spew acidic body fluids at him. Yu-wan couldn't dodge that attack alone. Without hesitation, Kapros chanted the spell.
"Ice Wall!"
Similar to Fire Wall but a bit sturdier, as he cast Ice Wall, a huge wall of ice grew from the ground, blocking the body fluids.
Hiss...
Unable to block it completely, the wall almost melted away, but even that much had admirably fulfilled its role. Taking advantage of that moment, Yu-wan shouted.
"There's no time, hurry!"
He sure talks a lot after being saved.
"This makes us even for earlier. Haste!"
Saying that, Kapros cast Haste on Yu-wan. With this, he would be able to move with incomparable agility compared to before. There's nothing better than fast speed when facing a giant enemy, so it should be much easier now.
Then, the circle Kapros drew again was not just with his right hand, but with both hands separately. As he inserted both hands into the glowing circles, the formula world was soon completed. After confirming that Yu-wan and the monsters' bodies were covered in green formula lines, Kapros began to chant the incantation.
"Thunder of the moment, lightning as long as eternity. In the instant connecting end to end, become one trajectory and rise as the light of the heavens!"
A mass destruction magic where hot lightning strikes down, and unsatisfied with a single prey, moves from enemy to enemy as if drawn to electrodes, then explodes. Kapros concentrated his mind and condensed his magical power. He needed to make it explode quickly to deal enormous damage in a single hit.
Soon, with tremendous sparks, the light of lightning connecting between his hands began to rise brightly. The crackling sound was frighteningly loud, but his hands enveloped in that light were unharmed. When the growing light exceeded filling both hands and extended to his upper body, Kapros felt this was about the limit and shouted towards the front.
"Dodge! Chain Lightning!"
The streak of Chain Lightning grazed past Yu-wan, who had just dodged to the side, and struck the Lord Skeleton with lightning speed. An explosion occurred with an ear-splitting sound. With the giant monster over 3 meters tall exploding, it felt like the entire underground was shaking. Kapros kept his eyes wide open. This magic didn't end here. A moment later, through the exploding dust, he saw the light streak that had half-destroyed the skeleton now fly towards the Lord Ghoul beside it and strike.
"Kaaaah!"
The Lord Ghoul frantically sprayed body fluids in this direction, but Kapros had no intention of taking it head-on.
"Magic Shield!"
As magical power was instantly compressed, layers of transparent barriers formed. The moment the body fluids lost their power upon hitting it, Kapros chanted one more spell.
"Ice Wall!"
He had done this earlier too, but this time he made it two layers thick. He felt his magical power draining like an ebb tide. In an instant, acidic body fluids that had penetrated the Magic Shield began to melt the ice walls that had almost completely blocked his view. He was a bit worried about Yu-wan, but since all attacks were flying this way, he decided to assume he had dodged well on his own. Amidst the chaotic smoke, explosion sounds, dust, and screams, Kapros chanted the 3rd class Ice Spear spell.
"With that sharp cold of ice, pierce the enemy before me, spear of absolute zero! Ice Spear!"
Although Chain Lightning was powerful, it couldn't take down those two monsters at once by itself.
Soon, as white cold haze spewed forth before his eyes, sharp ice spears appeared in each hand. More precisely, they were long ice pillars with sharply swirling tips rather than spears. If this hit, it would inflict damage that would freeze the entire body starting from the point of impact.
Kapros gripped them tightly and watched the dust settle outside the almost completely melted Ice Wall. By casting Ice Spear, his magical power was now almost completely depleted. For the next attack, he might only be able to manage a 1st class Fireball at best; anything more would be too much. Moreover, his health wasn't much left either, probably due to bleeding and running away in between.
