Vol 1 Chapter 59

"If you don't like it, you can just beat them yourself. But you know which option is more beneficial, don't you?"

Un-o seemed to have done this more than once or twice.

The market for trading in-game items for real money had been widespread for a long time. For popular games, it wasn't unusual to see people who made a living buying and selling items. Mist was a game at its peak, so the demand must be overflowing, and such transactions might be happening countless times somewhere... But still, he was just a high school student, only 19 years old.

'If he had started this just to kill time, I could understand... But he's too serious for that. Un-o doesn't seem like the type to do this for fun either.'

Kapros didn't know why Un-o had tried to make this deal. But somehow, he couldn't just leave it alone.

Fortunately, the proposal seemed to have worked, as Un-o soon nodded.

"...It's a bit of a loss on my side, but if you add 50,000 more, I'll do it."

Un-o, that guy. Despite his appearance, he had quite a sense of humor.

"Alright. Deal. You made a good decision."

At this, the group watching our conversation incredulously let out a mocking laugh.

"What are they doing now?"

"There's a limit to how lightly you can take this. This is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous."

"The ridiculous ones are you guys."

Kran drew his sword with vigor.

"Who are you calling a gloomy black bastard? You didn't learn your lesson even after getting beaten to a pulp last time. I, Kratos, will never forgive you!"

"He's excited."

As Yu-wan sneered cynically, Kran glared at him sharply. Sparks flew between the two once again.

'Looking at them like this, those two seem to get along better than with me.'

They might deny it, but that's how it looked to Kapros.

"Scammer, I challenge you to a duel."

As Kapros stepped forward and spoke calmly, the other side accepted the challenge with a sneer, as if they had been waiting for it.

"Sure, bring it on."

Ding!

As soon as the challenge was accepted, a space of light was immediately created between the group and Kapros's party. People began to crowd around, drawn by the rare sight of a public fight. However, Kran and Yu-wan seemed more concerned about something else than the growing situation.

"Kap, don't you hate noisy situations? Let's finish this quickly and go."

"You're right."

And the fight ended in an instant with our overwhelming victory, to the point where the spectators were left deflated.

"Whoa... No way, it's over already? For real?"

The eyes of the users watching were filled with shock and admiration.

PK in a duel relationship is not considered murder. Because of this, Yu-wan and Kran were able to kill their opponents in one breath before Kapros could even make a move. They didn't even bother using skills, just basic attacks, yet their opponents couldn't properly block anything. Thanks to this, not only the spectators but even Kapros could once again appreciate the skills of the guys beside him.

There were probably few swordsmen in Mist currently stronger than these guys. Weren't they the ones who had learned the intermediate level of the Sword Mastery skill, which was said to be difficult to train? Although Kapros didn't have a chance to step in, he wasn't angry, perhaps because he had enjoyed the rare good show.

"There was someone as strong as Kratos in this city?"

"That's amazing!"

Without even turning their eyes to the excited users, the two men at the center of attention returned to Kapros. He thought they were maintaining their composure in front of people's gazes, but somehow, the way both of them avoided his gaze seemed unusual.

"...Sorry. The opponents were too weak, so there was no chance to hand it over to you."

Yu-wan bowed his head and muttered first. Then Kran followed, making a groaning sound as he knelt down.

"I-I'm really sorry... I got carried away thinking I wanted to take out more than the Black Swordsman... Can I pay the money instead?"

His behavior, going even further than Yu-wan, was ridiculous.

"...No. I'm not angry..."

Although he was a bit disappointed, Kapros didn't particularly care since he hadn't necessarily intended to take them out himself. After all, Yu-wan and Kran were his companions, so it was as good as if he had done it himself.

Nevertheless, it was only after a long while of gauging his reaction that the two finally returned to their normal selves. As Kapros was thinking how strange it was that these guys, who usually didn't lose their composure in front of others, were excessively humble before him, he heard Kran muttering while wiping his forehead.

"Phew. That's a relief. I thought I was going to end up like those hounds..."

"..."

Only then did Kapros realize the real reason they had been nervous, and silently raised one hand.

"Screw Fireball."

It was a name he had come up with while thinking about what to call the spinning Fireball. He didn't necessarily need to call out the name, but naming it made it easier to grasp the image.

Immediately, a fiercely spinning ball of fire appeared above his hand with a whooshing sound.

"Gasp. K-Kap... Did you hear?"

Kran immediately stepped back, but it was useless. Magic was basically a long-range attack.

"If you want to become a hound that badly, you should."

The Screw Fireball flew like an arrow and exploded on Kran's armor as he was running away.

"Argh!"

As Kran flew and fell without resistance, the surrounding users began to murmur.

"Wait, weren't they companions?"

"Is he dead?"

However, Kran soon jumped up and shouted.

"Thank you, Kap! You held back for my sake, didn't you?"

Kapros had never used it weakly. It was just that Kran's toughness was abnormally good. Kapros remained silent and then raised both hands, creating ten more Screw Balls, five in each hand.

"I'm sorry if that was weak. Since you haven't felt like a hound yet, shall we try a bit stronger?"

"What? No. No, no. I felt it! I really felt it!"

But the magic had already been fired and was flying.

After the situation had calmed down, Kapros and Un-o faced each other on the street where people had disappeared. Yu-wan and Kran had stepped back as Un-o seemed to be feeling uncomfortable.

"Un-o... No. What's your name in the game?"

"It's the same. Un-o."

"I see."

Un-o was still looking at Kapros with an unfavorable expression.
