Vol 4 Chapter 24
As Kapros faced Caesar spewing abusive language with a look in his eyes that suggested he couldn't bear it unless he poured out his targetless hatred somewhere, it became increasingly difficult to meet his gaze as it reminded him more and more of that day.
The Jeong Seung-jo Kapros knew wasn't someone who would take out his anger on uninvolved people. It might not be the case now, but he still wanted to believe it.
'What on earth is making you act like this...'
While Kapros was having many thoughts in that brief moment, Un-o was the quickest to react to Caesar's killing intent.
"Step back!"
"Blink!"
Swoosh, thud!
The moment Kapros shouted "Blink" while turning back at Un-o's words, two of Un-o's arrows flew towards Caesar. But with one flash of Caesar's sword draw, all that remained were pieces of broken arrows.
Whoosh...!
From the moment Caesar drew his sword, a black energy incomparable to before could be seen emanating visibly, flowing along the sword and up his arm.
"What is that? If he's claiming that to be sword energy..."
As Kapros heard Kran muttering in shock beside him and was trying to think of what to do, Caesar's crazed eyes followed them and began to gleam with madness.
"Maybe killing everyone will make me feel better. Come on, entertain me by running away like rats like before."
The people in the audience seats murmured as if sensing the ominous atmosphere. It was so noisy that his head was ringing. Warning messages even started flashing above.
[ Intrusion by non-competitors is prohibited. Please exit immediately. ]
"Intruders over there! Come out at once!"
Five or six NPC guards who had dragged Kapros out when he had lingered after his match before were now rushing out from the waiting room area in a fluster.
"What on earth are you doing there?"
In the moment of hesitation caused by their momentum and the commotion from above, Kapros's eyes widened as he inadvertently looked at Caesar's face. Caesar was grinning broadly with his sword drawn, as if he had been waiting for this moment.
While everyone was distracted and in chaos, Caesar slowly took up an attack stance alone. As all of this scene entered Kapros's view like a slow-motion picture, he instinctively sensed what Caesar was about to do.
"Wait...!"
Right at that moment, Caesar swung his sword, surrounded by dark blue sword energy, high towards the air. He seemed to have muttered a skill name too, but it couldn't be heard properly due to the commotion.
At first, it looked like he had swung aimlessly without a target. However, the dark blue sword energy generated from the trajectory of the sword swing grew bigger and bigger, and finally became a huge parabolic blade in the shape of a crescent moon that cut down all the guards and struck the middle of the audience seats.
Swoosh! Boom, crash crash crash!
"Waaaaaah!"
"Argh!"
"Wh-what is that!"
"Run away!"
The sword energy, which disappeared as if sinking into the building due to its slow speed, instantly cut down and collapsed a large part of the colosseum. As part of the audience seats collapsed unbelievably, those who finally realized this situation was no joke began to rush towards the exits all at once, screaming. Amidst the total chaos, Caesar nonchalantly swung his arm towards the remaining frozen NPC guards.
"Ugh... Ahhh!"
As soon as the sword light flashed a few times, even the NPC guards who had been trembling and trying to escape in the back were seen falling with a thud.
"Argh!"
The dead NPCs soon disappeared without a trace along with traces of blood, and only then did Caesar turn his body with a slightly satisfied expression to look at them.
"Now the atmosphere is a bit better. Is it your turn next?"
"You crazy bastard!"
Finally, Kran exploded with anger and drew his sword. A white sword energy leapt up from the tip of the blade, rising over several dozen centimeters. Kapros had seen Yu-wan use such sword energy before, but it was the first time seeing Kran use it. Without a moment's hesitation, Kran rushed towards Caesar and swung his sword down.
Bang! Bang! Boom! Boom!
As Caesar's sword energy, which he was blocking with ease, collided with Kran's, it produced explosion sounds of energy against energy rather than metal clashing. The rough air pressure was enough to make the surroundings look distorted. Unlike Kran, who was attacking with a terrifying momentum full of anger, Caesar kept only defending, but there was no one here who didn't know that although Caesar seemed to be pushed to a disadvantage at first glance, in reality, Kran was pushing himself much harder.
"Arrow of Crimson Flame!"
Un-o nocked an arrow and shouted an incantation Kapros had never heard before. Then, with a whoosh, energy gathered from the surroundings instantly burst and became a bright red light surrounding the arrowhead. Un-o aimed the target with that arrow, which looked like a burning flame, and released it without hesitation.
"Go!"
Swoosh!
The arrow rushed towards Caesar, drawing a red tail like a comet.
However, Caesar succeeded in naturally adjusting the trajectory of his sword swing to defend against the arrow while fighting Kran.
Bang!
The moment the sword tip and the arrow collided, red light exploded and flames shot up in the air, but it had no effect on Caesar. The arrow fell powerlessly with a crackling sound.
"If it's just a toothpick like this, you'd be better off not throwing it."
Caesar coldly said one line towards Un-o and then immediately started dealing with Kran again as if nothing had happened.
"It seems his magic defense stat is incredible. Well, the armor he's wearing looks expensive from the start..."
Un-o muttered like that, then soon calmed himself with one deep breath and started nocking and shooting two or three arrows again. Kapros also gritted his teeth and shouted a spell.
"Strength! Haste!"
It was magic cast on Kran, Un-o, and himself. Kapros already knew from previous experience that ordinary magic wouldn't be enough to deal with Caesar, who seemed much stronger than before. From the start, going out with just average magic wouldn't even be a match.
"I desire that you break free from your existence and reveal your breath in this moment to move for me. Aerial Servant!"
