Vol 4 Chapter 30
"I guess you haven't seen it yet. Is there a place where we can use a computer?"
"Well, that's..."
Since this was right near his house...
"But."
Just as Kapros was about to suggest going to his house, Je-hwan, who had been staring intently at his face, suddenly furrowed his brows and muttered.
"Are you sick or something?"
"What?"
Hearing a similar question for the second time today, Kapros frowned slightly and asked back.
"Compared to before, your face..."
Je-hwan, who was about to bring his hand to Kapros's face with a lowered voice, seemed to notice Kapros's gaze looking back at him and lowered his hand, shaking his head.
"No... It's fine if you're okay with it."
"I'm perfectly fine, I don't know why everyone's acting like this. Anyway, this is right near my house, so we can go there."
When Kapros suggested going to his house, Je-hwan seemed to come to his senses and looked around, then noticed his fallen motorcycle and the helmet rolling on the ground, and his expression hardened coldly. However, he quickly composed himself, picked up the bike, and like before, gave Kapros a ride on the back, allowing him to get home more comfortably than walking.
Standing in front of the door, Kapros placed his finger on the fingerprint scanner, and with a beep of authentication, the door clicked open. As he entered and placed his cane in the entryway, he saw Je-hwan following him, looking around. Glancing at the bathroom, he noticed no sound, suggesting that the bath was already prepared and ready. Although he would have loved to get in right away, the situation didn't allow it...
Kapros spoke as he placed the plastic bag containing the beer cans on the table.
"Computer, connect to the web page."
[ Connecting. ]
As soon as he finished speaking, with a whirring boot-up sound, a large hologram popped up displaying the main screen of the VTnet web page. When Kapros turned around, he saw Je-hwan standing somewhat awkwardly.
"Sit down or something..."
Feeling awkward himself, Kapros lowered his eyes as he spoke, and Je-hwan nodded and sat on the sofa behind him. As Kapros was about to sit down next to him, Je-hwan suddenly reached out and firmly grasped his arm, helping him sit.
"I'm fine."
Thinking it felt strange to be assisted in his own home on his own sofa, Kapros spoke, and Je-hwan, seeming to realize this, opened his mouth somewhat sheepishly.
"Sorry."
"No..."
Come to think of it, it had been a very long time since Kapros had been in his house with someone other than himself, so he thought it might be uncomfortable, but sitting next to Jin Je-hwan didn't feel that uncomfortable, which was fortunate.
"Then show me what this video is about now."
Speaking quietly in the slight awkwardness that had arisen after they both recovered from their earlier sudden embarrassment and returned to a rational state, Je-hwan nodded and said 'Keyboard', changing the key input state from voice recognition to manual. His attitude showed he was very familiar with handling computers. Kapros had thought this guy might have been athletic, but he had never expected him to be good with computers, and it felt very unfamiliar.
Regardless of Kapros's unfamiliar feeling, Je-hwan quickly typed in a web page address and hit enter. The web page they moved to was one Kapros had never seen before, but he could immediately tell what it was about. It was because of the one word common to all the numerous menus: THE MIST.
'Is this another community web page for THE MIST...?'
Je-hwan didn't even look at the other menus but immediately clicked on the video section and selected one, making the content of the post appear.
[ ★!!!LIVE!!!★ Bistale Collapse Video!! Half Gone in One Hit (Definitely Caesar) ] [388]
This is a video that was difficult to capture when Bistale's symbol,
the Colosseum, collapsed just 10 minutes ago.
The person who destroyed it is definitely Caesar.
Honestly, at this point, it's a balance collapse.
All those guys who've been posting authentication videos saying they're strong should be ashamed now. Is that even a skill???
"This is...!"
As Kapros leaned forward in surprise without realizing it, Je-hwan grabbed his arm from the side to stop him.
"Playing."
As soon as the closed video window opened with a click, the screen went dark and then lit up again, showing a familiar scene in full screen. As soon as the smoothly embedded dark blue crescent-shaped sword energy disappeared, a part of the Colosseum wall crumbled as if it were a lie, and screams poured out.
Rumble, crash crash crash boom!
[ Waaaaaah! ]
[ Ahhh, what's this! ]
[ Shit! Get to the exit first! Don't block the way, you bastards! ]
The video shot from the audience seats was shaking uncontrollably, probably because the person filming was flustered, which conveyed the chaos of people running around even better.
At that moment, a glimpse of Caesar clashing with Kran in the central arena was visible. The image of the clashing sword energy was small but clear and distinct. Kran's blonde hair and armor were also clearly visible, enough that anyone who knew Kran would definitely recognize him. Un-o was a bit further away, and Kapros's figure in a robe was also briefly visible nearby, but it wasn't very noticeable due to the lack of movement. However, the video shook even more there and then suddenly went black.
After returning to the web page, Kapros opened his mouth in surprise without realizing it.
"To think that what happened just this afternoon is already up..."
"..."
Seeing himself from a third-person perspective like this made Kapros feel somewhat deflated and confused. As he closed his eyes and brought his cool hand to his forehead, Je-hwan's low voice was heard.
"I... thought something had happened to you."
Lowering his arm and looking to the side, Kapros saw Je-hwan's profile still staring at the hologram screen. His face was a bit stiff, and he even looked anxious, just like when Kapros had first seen him earlier.
"...Is that why you came?"
When Kapros asked back with a slightly incredulous feeling, Je-hwan's firmly nodding chin silently conveyed his answer.

In fact, his true identity is someone who has regressed through three lives, trying to save the world from the Great Rift but failing each time. After repeating a life where he couldn't sleep peacefully even for a day, he became completely exhausted before this life even began.

And then there's Han Tae-un, the man who saved Soram and died in all three previous lives. As he did in every life, he comes to Soram's side once again. The Great Rift is approaching soon. It's impossible to resolve it in this life without any preparation. Soram vows to save Tae-un in this life and die himself. At least, he won't let Tae-un save a failure like himself again.
"For now, until then, let's sleep..."
As Soram sluggishly lives his life waiting for that moment, a gradual change occurs in his heart.
'I thought this was a messed-up round... but I want to live a little longer here.'
