Vol 6 Chapter 44

"Aerial Servant, go!"

As he gave the command in a whisper while throwing, the Aerial Servant faithfully followed his will and flew wrapping around the dart that was moving much faster than before thanks to Strength. Though he could see the stall owner in the distance muttering something while wiggling his fingers again, when Kapros added power to the Aerial Servant, the dart riding on the invisible 6th circle wind flew effortlessly and stuck into the center of the magic book with a thud. It was his first success.

"Woooow!"

Sounds of amazement echoed from the surroundings.

"Uh..."

Kapros grinned as he watched the stall owner's clearly bewildered expression. Yes, he must be surprised. He wouldn't understand why the dart hadn't fallen despite using his skill.

The method Kapros used was simple. He used Strength to make it look like the dart was flying fast due to power. People would then mistakenly think he could throw darts well because he was strong. Then he summoned Aerial Servant, which had some physical force but was invisible to the eye, to wrap around the dart and guide it toward the target. In other words, what made the dart stick properly to the target wasn't his exceptional dart skills but rather his good control of Aerial Servant.

It was possible because no matter how highly trained the stall owner's skill was, it couldn't match the level of 6th circle magic.

"Y-you've won the auxiliary magic Silence book as a prize."

Kapros picked up the next dart while listening to the flustered stall owner's words. This time his target was a jeweled staff that looked quite expensive.

"Aerial Servant, go!"

The second dart thrown with his command also stuck effortlessly into the desired staff. People again burst into amazed cheers. The third dart was stuck in the accessory set, and the fourth dart pierced the ivory dagger in its premium leather sheath. The fifth, sixth, and subsequent darts also found their way into only the expensive and good items.

Finally, when the tenth dart stuck into the jeweled ring box, the dozens of people gathered around him all shouted at once, making it hard to hear what they were saying. As Kapros stood there confidently, the stall owner, his face turned pale blue, shouted loudly.

"This is impossible! Cheating! You cheater! Reveal your identity!"

"What do you mean cheating? I just threw them since darts are my hobby. I hit them well, but they're not even all that great items."

Kapros feigned surprise as he questioned back. The stall owner's face turned bright red as he now outright screamed.

"It's impossible to succeed nine times! Quickly reveal what cheating skill you used!"

Hearing this, Kapros bent down and picked up three or four small stones lying around.

"I'm actually good at throwing anything. I can hit anything you ask for right now. Should I try hitting that spire on the building roof over there?"

'Aerial Servant!'

As he quickly muttered Aerial Servant while speaking and throwing the stone, the wind-riding stone easily hit the spire on the roof of the building ahead and fell.

"The flower placed in front of that building's gate."

With a whoosh, another stone flew and hit exactly the flower he had mentioned. The people seemed unable to think this was due to magic, and were busy watching his performance with their mouths hanging open. The only one left was the stall owner, who still had bloodshot eyes wide open as if he couldn't believe it.

"Stop lying! You cheater, those darts can't hit like that! You, you're covering your face so deeply because you have something to hide, right? I absolutely won't give prizes to a cheater like you!"

At those words, criticism suddenly poured toward the stall owner from the surroundings.

"What kind of person is this? Events are for sharing prizes and enjoying the process, but you just charged expensive participation fees with no intention of giving out event prizes?"

"With skills that good, hitting prizes with darts would be easy. Just accept you met your match and give the prizes, how greedy."

Kapros grinned, enjoying all the reactions.

"Speaking of cheaters, that would be you, wouldn't it? Why are you so certain the darts can't hit like that? Could it be because you were actually using some strange cheating method? For example, something like making the darts move heavily and fly off course just by muttering a few times and moving your hands..."

"Sh-shut up!"

As soon as Kapros raised the corner of his mouth slightly while speaking, the stall owner, severely flustered, cursed and looked around as if searching for support.

"Br-brothers!"

Then the guys who had claimed to be from the same guild, who had disappeared just before, came running back in a line to stand in front of the stall owner.

"What did this cheating bastard just say?"

"He needs to taste some heat to come to his senses."

Among the guys who instantly took fighting stances were the ones who had collided with him earlier. When Kapros grinned at them, they became wide-eyed like startled rabbits as if remembering earlier.

"Ah... you're that guy from before!"

Kapros leisurely recalled usable spells in his mind. Since there were many people around, high circles wouldn't work, but if used in combination with swords, even low circle magic could be used quite threateningly. He wondered how to handle this properly.

As the rising tension seemed about to burst, one of them drew his sword and rushed at Kapros.

"Arrogant cheating bastard! I'll split that black hood first!"

Though he had expected someone to rush at him, if the guy's target center became his hood, there was a possibility of an accident where the hood might come off. Before the guy could reach him, Kapros grabbed the edge of his hood to keep it from flipping back and put strength into his right hand to draw out Superior's staff.
