Chapter 144: Clues from Six Days Ago
On a street in Huadu, a car was driving at a steady speed.
Su Tianyu sat in the back seat of the car, holding his phone and saying: "Uncle Wang, go ahead."
"I asked a friend in Gu Tongshan's special case team. He told me there were about five or six bandits. The most obvious clue is that though the bandits blocked the road and opened fire on foot, they had two cars parked in the nearby alleys for entry and escape," Wang Daolin said concisely. "Both cars had fake license plates and were caught on cameras along the route. When the special case team was searching for clues, they checked surveillance footage from major roads in all districts and conducted extensive screening investigations. They finally discovered these two cars had appeared at Tianhong Port six days before Gu Tongshan was killed."
Wei Xiangzuo's brows furrowed tightly hearing this.
"These two cars appeared at Tianhong Port six days before?" Su Tianyu immediately asked.
"Yes."
"Are there any clear leads on these two cars now?" Su Tianyu asked again.
"If I had those kinds of leads, I wouldn't tell you - it involves whether the case can be successfully solved," Wang Daolin refused before adding: "However, those above are taking this case very seriously. Many clues have been found so far."
"Alright, I understand."
"Can what I said resolve your current predicament?" Wang Daolin asked.
"Yes, yes it can," Su Tianyu immediately nodded.
"Tell Wei Xiangzuo not to make trouble, that's all," Wang Daolin said this one thing for Su Tianyu before directly hanging up.
Su Tianyu put the phone in his pocket and turned to look at Wei Xiangzuo: "Is this enough?"
Wei Xiangzuo looked at Su Tianyu suspiciously: "Enough for what? Wang Daolin has always had good relations with you people - what can his words prove?"
"Brother, don't you have any connections in the Police Bureau? Is it that hard to find out this information?" Su Tianyu replied helplessly. "Just ask around - maybe you'll know even more than I do?"
"I don't understand," Wei Xiangzuo looked at Su Tianyu. "My master died - why would you have Wang Daolin pay attention to the case progress?"
"This question is very simple - because our conflict with Gu Tongshan was out in the open. Once he died, those idiots outside would all think we did it," Su Tianyu replied smoothly. "We don't want to take this blame, so I want to know who killed him even more than you do."
Wei Xiangzuo fell silent hearing this.
"The cars appeared at Tianhong Port six days ago - this shows the bandits had entered Dragon City and gone into hiding before Zhou Tonghui and Yu Mingfei were kidnapped," Su Tianyu stared at Wei Xiangzuo's face and said softly. "Think about it - was the situation six days ago the same as now? Did we have any need to kill Gu Tongshan then? Had the conflict between both sides reached a life-or-death stage?"
Wei Xiangzuo frowned deeply, temporarily accepting Su Tianyu's words in his heart.
The bandits' vehicles had appeared at Tianhong Port six days ago, indicating these people might have appeared in Dragon City before Zhou Tonghui and Yu Mingfei were kidnapped. At that time, the conflict between both sides hadn't reached a life-or-death stage, and it seemed unnecessary for the Yu family to kill Gu Tongshan.
Yu Jinrong had returned to Zone One to find money for the association - Wei Xiangzuo had heard Gu Tongshan mention this, which meant Old Yu's mindset at the time was still considering ground-level confrontation, not burning bridges.
Looking at Wei Xiangzuo's expression, Su Tianyu said vaguely: "Moving against Nick was unavoidable - without dealing with him, we couldn't have rescued Zhou Tonghui and Yu Mingfei. And during the gunfire, Gu Tongshan was directly killed - this fucking frame-up technique couldn't be more obvious. So, I hope you won't be someone else's gun."
Wei Xiangzuo turned to look at Su Tianyu: "Don't try to guide me. You had motive - everyone knows I don't get along well with Xu Hu, so killing my master could cause internal strife in Zha'nan, maybe even in the whole dock gang."
Su Tianyu looked exasperated: "Even if this motive holds, we couldn't have arranged people to enter Dragon City six days ago preparing to kill Gu Tongshan! At that time, the conflict between us hadn't reached this step, right? Moreover, if we had gunmen, would we have needed... to send out all our elite forces to deal with Liang Feng? Also, the cars appeared at Tianhong Port six days ago, but that batch of gunmen might have come a month earlier - why don't you consider this factor?"
Wei Xiangzuo fell silent again hearing this - the gunmen arriving early was indeed making him uncertain. Because Yu Jinrong's displayed motive really didn't seem like wanting to take out Gu Tongshan, and the main conflict between both sides was focused on the Bai family and Xu Hu.
Su Tianyu was right - Wei Xiangzuo really didn't want to be anyone's gun. If Gu Tongshan wasn't killed by the Yu family people, then the killer would love nothing more than for him to fight with the Yu family to the death.
The information Su Tianyu got from Wang Daolin was very important - it indirectly cleared many of the Yu family's suspicions and gave Wei Xiangzuo other thoughts.
In the car, after a long silence, Wei Xiangzuo pointed at Su Tianyu and said: "You can go."
"Then tell him to stop the car, or should I jump out?" Su Tianyu replied expressionlessly.
"Stop by the road," Wei Xiangzuo called to the driver.
As the car stopped and Su Tianyu pushed the door to leave, Wei Xiangzuo turned to look at him: "Go back and tell Yu Mingyuan, if he killed the person, I'll come back."
Su Tianyu turned around hearing this: "Brother Wei, don't make absolute statements! It's still not clear who did this - who knows... we might have common targets in some aspects in the future."
"I won't have common targets with you people," Wei Xiangzuo replied very decisively. "Even if ghosts appear in the dock gang, that's our internal matter - I don't need to cooperate with you."
"Hehe," Su Tianyu smiled. "Drive carefully - there are quite a few pits in Huadu's suburbs."
Wei Xiangzuo pulled the car door closed and looked up to instruct the driver: "Tell the people at the hospital to withdraw."
The driver responded and then frowned as he reminded: "What this kid said makes some sense. If the people really entered Dragon City early, then... it really doesn't seem like the Yu family did it. Think about it - if they had people, would they need the Su, Bai, and Kong families' core members to go into Xinaluo to snatch Liang Feng?"
"Damn it, in broad daylight, could there really be ghosts?" Wei Xiangzuo cursed with furrowed brows, took out his phone and dialed a number.
"Hello, Xiangzuo?"
"Old Huang, help me check something with the Police Bureau..." After talking with the other party for five or six minutes, Wei Xiangzuo looked up and instructed the driver: "After Old Huang finds out the information about those two cars, find someone at the port to check on this batch of gunmen."
"Alright," the driver nodded.
Wei Xiangzuo lay back in the rear seat with his hands crossed, saying nothing.
The car drove quickly, and after being silent for a while, the driver suddenly asked: "If it really wasn't the Yu family who did it, then who could it be?"
"No matter who it is, they must pay with their life for killing someone!" Wei Xiangzuo replied without hesitation.
......
Su Tianyu took a taxi back to the hospital, and Bai Hongbo immediately came over saying: "Little Six, you're really fucking awesome! Wei Xiangzuo came with a gun, and you could still talk him down. Damn, you know what? The moment you got in the car, I had already thought about where to bury you..."
