Chapter 152: Another Rainy Night

The next day, Dragon City, which had been clear for nearly half a month, suddenly had heavy rain.

Around 4 PM, Wei Xiangzuo returned alone from Fugang District to Tianhong Port, planning to find a place to eat.

Normally, Wei Xiangzuo was never without company - wherever he went, several brothers would follow, but today he was unusually alone, having driven off by himself early in the morning.

Back at the port, before Wei Xiangzuo could reach a place to eat, his phone rang. He glanced at the number and pressed answer: "Hello!"

"Big Brother, there's an urgent matter, where are you?"

"I'm at the port, what's wrong?"

"Come to Second Street," Little Feng replied softly. "Me and Cheng Gang are waiting for you."

"What's the matter?" Wei Xiangzuo asked.

"About the gunmen."

"Good, I understand," Wei Xiangzuo responded and immediately drove toward Second Street in the port.

......

The rain poured down heavily, the roads were slick, and pedestrians were few.

After Wei Xiangzuo's car stopped in front of a snack shop on Second Street in the port, a burly man about thirty years old immediately ran out with the shop owner's umbrella to greet him.

Wei Xiangzuo got out of the car and ducked under the umbrella, asking softly: "Found something?"

"Yes, caught a thread, let's talk inside," the man nodded in reply. This person was called Cheng Gang, a team leader in the Zha'nan dock gang mainly responsible for goods distribution.

The two ran into the restaurant and came to a first-floor private room where six or seven other people were waiting - all Wei Xiangzuo's brothers.

These people were all Wei Xiangzuo's confidants. When he was on the run before, though things weren't going well, these brothers had stayed with him. They had drifted together outside for several years and had very deep feelings.

In the private room, Wei Xiangzuo wiped the water from his body, bent down to sit and asked: "What did you find?!"

Cheng Gang poured Wei Xiangzuo a cup of water and replied with a smile: "Wait a bit for Second Ghost to come, let him tell you."

"Mm," Wei Xiangzuo nodded.

The group sat inside drinking tea and eating dried fruits. After waiting less than five minutes, a sneaky-looking man walked in, bowing and nodding as he called out to Wei Xiangzuo: "Big Brother!"

"Ah, you're here," Wei Xiangzuo smiled and nodded.

Little Feng looked at him and said while smoking: "Tell Big Brother what happened."

The man pulled up a chair, bent down to sit, and immediately said: "It's like this, Big Brother. Today wasn't it time to pay out profits? After I finished distributing dividends at the hall, I happened to meet Second Tao. We used to play Texas Hold'em together and I owed him some money, so I gave it to him, and even treated him to lunch."

"Ah, then what?" Wei Xiangzuo nodded.

"We both drank quite a bit, had over a jin at lunch," the man said somewhat chattily. "When we were drunk, we started talking randomly about Old Gu's killing... I said that yesterday those above seemed to argue about this matter in Longkou, and it might not be the Yu family who did it... but unexpectedly Second Tao went along and said this wasn't done by the Yu family, the dock gang had a ghost."

"He said it wasn't the Yu family?" Wei Xiangzuo asked.

"Yes, I was curious too, so I asked him what exactly happened," the man nodded and replied. "Second Tao is loose-lipped - I led him on with a couple words and he told me... three days before Old Gu's incident, someone went to Yang Ming's place to get guns, long and short ones, two whole bags full."

Wei Xiangzuo raised his eyebrows and asked: "Is this the same Yang Ming as Xu Er's?"

"Yes, that's him. This Yang Ming also likes to gamble, Second Tao often plays Texas Hold'em with him," the man replied softly. "Second Tao said that night they played until past 2 AM, and since it was too late he didn't go home but stayed at Warehouse Four. Yang Ming was there too, and two people came midway to take guns from the warehouse. Second Tao even asked what he was delivering, and Yang Ming said it was contraband drugs someone bought, but Second Tao saw from upstairs that Yang Ming was taking out guns."

Hearing this, Cheng Gang immediately asked: "This Second Tao likes to boast when he drinks - is what he says reliable?"

"We were asking about those gunmen before, right? So I asked what the people who came for the guns looked like, what their physical characteristics were," the man lowered his voice and replied. "Second Tao told me one of them had a crew cut and was missing half his left ear."

Wei Xiangzuo was stunned hearing this.

"When I heard this information matched what we found, I called Little Feng right after drinking with Second Tao," the man replied.

"If Second Tao saw that half-ear guy, then this really could match up," Little Feng glanced at Wei Xiangzuo. "Yang Ming is Xu Er's man, damn it, this is getting interesting."

Wei Xiangzuo put down his teacup and waved to Second Ghost saying: "Alright, I understand, thank you for your trouble with this."

"Hehe, no problem," Second Ghost immediately stood up. "You all talk, I'll go first."

"Get your red envelope from Little Feng later, don't talk about this outside," Wei Xiangzuo instructed.

"Alright, thank you Big Brother!" Second Ghost turned and left.

Wei Xiangzuo turned to look at Little Feng: "Did you check?"

"I asked around - Yang Ming is at Warehouse Four right now," Little Feng immediately replied, naturally understanding what his big brother meant.

Wei Xiangzuo looked at his watch and said softly to Little Feng: "Warehouse Four has too many eyes watching. Have someone follow Yang Ming and move on him tonight."

"Understood!" Little Feng replied.

......

The thread Second Ghost provided pointed too clearly, so Wei Xiangzuo couldn't let it go.

Everyone gathered together and waited until after 9 PM before Little Feng received a call from a lackey saying Yang Ming had gone home.

After the call, Wei Xiangzuo took six brothers and drove a business van toward Bei'an Street in the rainy night.

Bei'an Street's location was already near the edge of the port, adjacent to Zha'nan's Earth House Street. The living environment wasn't good at all, showing crowding and poverty everywhere.

The car slowly entered Bei'an Street as Wei Xiangzuo sat in the back, resting with his eyes closed.

"Everyone cover your faces!" Little Feng sat in the passenger seat and turned back to remind everyone. "After we catch Yang Ming, take him to the outer port first for a beating. If he really gave the guns to the gunmen, then we can basically confirm it was Xu Hu; if not, we shouldn't show our faces either, to avoid giving Xu Hu something to hold against us."

"Hehe, alright!" Cheng Gang nodded.

The car continued forward, getting closer and closer to Yang Ming's residence.

"Buzz buzz!"

Just then, Wei Xiangzuo's phone vibrated several times in his pocket. He slowly opened his eyes and took out the phone to glance at it.

It was a text message. After reading it, Wei Xiangzuo suddenly sat up straight, his eyes becoming much clearer.

Outside, the heavy rain poured down. Wei Xiangzuo held his phone and suddenly called out: "Little Xuan, stop driving!"

"Ah?!" the driver turned back. "What's wrong, Big Brother?"

"Find an alley to stop, I need a smoke," Wei Xiangzuo had returned to his lazy expression as he took out his cigarette pack and instructed.

Though the driver didn't know what Big Brother wanted to do, he still complied, stopping the car in an alley, turning off the lights and engine.

"What's wrong, Brother?" Little Feng also turned back to ask.

Wei Xiangzuo lit a cigarette, sitting in the back row of the van, and in the extremely dark conditions, scanned everyone in the car: "...Wait a bit, I'll send a few messages before we go."

"Ah!" Little Feng nodded.

In the car, everyone was quiet as Wei Xiangzuo fiddled with his phone, his expression calm.

......

In Zone One, Huadu.

Yu Jinrong lay in his hospital bed, also sending a text message that read: "Gu Tongshan is dead, but the dock gang is very quiet, what do you think?"

The reply came: "No rush, observe."
