Chapter 190: Tonglin Bridge
In Zha'nan, on Nanxiang Street.
A half-truck stopped directly at the entrance of Changqing's garbage plant. Three men jumped down from the truck as the leader called out: "Get the weapons!"
"Rustle rustle!"
Over a hundred men rushed out from the courtyard, swarming around the truck and picking up the bundled knives and clubs from the vehicle.
Following this, four trucks drove out from the courtyard and stopped at the entrance waiting.
By a large SUV outside the yard, a medium-built man with a crew cut held his phone asking: "He Er'er, how many people do you have? Thirty, right? Fine, don't wait for the others, meet me directly at the bridge. Good, that's it."
This crew-cut man was called Du Shengming, one of the lieutenants Li Hongze had originally brought from Zone One. He used to be Old Lei's desperado operating outside the district. It was said he was extremely fierce in one-on-one fights, on par with Lu Feng - they were known as Changqing's Twin Blades.
Ten minutes later, after Changqing Company's people had taken their weapons and all climbed onto the trucks, Du Shengming saw time was short and immediately pulled open the car door, spat and called out: "Let's go!"
At these words, seven or eight vehicles set out from the garbage plant gate, heading straight for the port.
......
On Second Street in the port, after Li Xing stood waiting by his car for a while, two unmarked police cars stopped by the road as six or seven of his die-hard allies from the Police Bureau got out.
"Where are the others?" Li Xing asked.
"Don't know what's going on today - Deputy Director Guo didn't leave, still having meetings at the bureau," a young man said softly. "I called our brothers on duty, but they don't dare come out - they're all fucking listening to lectures."
"Director Guo didn't leave?" Li Xing felt something was off and asked: "What meeting in the middle of the night?"
"Seems like some technical training - two technical investigation experts came from Zone One to give lectures," the young man replied.
Hearing this, Li Xing felt something strange in his heart. Although people often came from Zone One to give lectures to the Police Bureau people, all types included, having meetings in the middle of the night was indeed very unusual.
Standing by the road, Li Xing had originally planned to go back to meet Lu Feng and Du Shengming, but seeing so few of his people had come, he didn't leave anymore and only instructed softly: "No need to change clothes, just put on your work IDs."
"Good."
Everyone nodded.
......
On the way back to Changqing Company.
Lu Feng sat lazily in the back seat fiddling with his phone while his brother in the passenger seat kept making calls to remotely coordinate gathering people.
"Big Brother, we've gathered over a hundred people, all at the venue - should we have them set out directly?" the brother in the passenger seat turned back to ask.
Lu Feng looked up and replied expressionlessly: "No need, wait a bit more - wait for Du Shengming's side to leave first, then our people can go."
"Why? Our starting points are different anyway, we're further than them," his brother was confused. "And I just asked - Old Du's side has already gathered people and left."
Lu Feng took off his prayer beads and cursed irritably: "I just feel something big is going to happen tonight."
"Hehe," his brother grinned. "What big thing could happen? With several hundred people entering the port, it definitely won't come to fighting! The ones solving problems will be Xu Hu and Wei Xiangzuo - we're just going to stand and cheer."
"With your intelligence, I really don't know how you ended up by my side," Lu Feng cursed with furrowed brows. "Tonight either Xu Hu lies down or Wei Xiangzuo lies down - it's a matter of life and death, and you're still thinking there won't be fighting?"
"With so many people, can there be fighting?"
"Didn't you see Old Li's expression earlier? He was about ready to rocket out of there. If Xu Hu hadn't gone out to talk with him, he'd definitely be sitting drinking tea at the company by now," Lu Feng waved his hand replying. "I'm only thinking about one question now."
"What question?"
"If fighting really breaks out tonight and things get big, who will take the fall in the end," Lu Feng asked his brother.
"Either Xu Hu, or the Yu family and Wei Xiangzuo, right? Is that even worth thinking about?"
"You're talking about the surface," Lu Feng shook his head. "I'm talking about if Xu Hu doesn't hold on, who from Changqing's side will take the fall. With hundreds of people causing trouble, and at this critical moment, who will those above deal with?"
The brother in the passenger seat fell into thought hearing this.
Lu Feng sighed and cursed: "Fuck, I'm an idiot too - there was originally a temple fair at Red Mountain Temple, going to Zone Five for half a month, they even sent me an invitation, but I was lazy... didn't go..."
"Then what do you mean?"
"Old Li has spoken, we definitely can't not go. Call them, keep the speed down - we'll gather at Tonglin Bridge outside the port," Lu Feng looked up and instructed. "Follow behind Old Du."
"Understood," his brother nodded.
Lu Feng turned to look out the window, his expression grave.
......
Tonglin Bridge was one of the main roads connecting the port and the district - sixty meters wide and five hundred and twenty meters long, slightly more impressive compared to Dragon Bridge at the inner port.
About twenty minutes later, Du Shengming's convoy reached Tonglin Bridge - once across, they could enter Tianhong Port.
As the convoy slowly approached along the dimly lit street, a man stood by the road and picked up his phone: "Changqing's people are coming!"
In the Yu family courtyard, Su Tianyu held his phone in his right hand and said softly: "Zhenghui, unless absolutely necessary, you must not show yourselves - we still need to stay in Dragon City, can't go too far."
"Good, I understand," Kong Zhenghui responded.
Su Tianyu immediately asked: "Have the Zhou family's people arrived?"
"They have."
"Call them, tell him to hit Changqing as hard as possible!" Su Tianyu said with cold light in his eyes. "Tell that Cui Bin - if they don't scare Changqing properly, our union won't have peaceful days. Beat them once to make them remember for ten years!"
"OK!" Kong Zhenghui nodded.
After they ended their call, Su Tianyu immediately dialed Wei Xiangzuo's number again: "I guarantee you Changqing won't get into the port for a while - your side needs to be quick."
"I'm already at the port," Wei Xiangzuo got off the boat and looked up toward the shore where Little Feng was already waiting with over twenty people: "Don't worry about matters inside the port, but you need to block the people on the outskirts for me."
"No problem," Su Tianyu immediately replied. "This battle must lift you up!"
"Good, let's rise together!" Wei Xiangzuo hung up the phone and walked up the steps, saying to Little Feng: "Tell the brothers on Second Street and Third Street that I, Old Wei, am back - those in Tianhong Port who still know me, take up knives tonight and support our position."
......
At Tonglin Bridge.
Just as Du Shengming's convoy was about to reach the bridge entrance, forty to fifty people suddenly rushed out from alleys on both sides.
Cui Bin, the red pole from Zhou family's North Hall, held a short chopper and pointed at the convoy in the alley saying: "Those with guns don't come down yet - if they don't open fire, we won't open fire."
