Chapter 207: Great Dragon Head, Lord Jing

In the afternoon, a private plane arrived at Dragon City airport. Zhang Ming and others drove two cars through the VIP channel to pick up the middle-aged man returning from Zone Three.

This middle-aged man was in his forties, tall and slender, about 1.8 meters in height. His features were scholarly and handsome, looking very much like a good-looking middle-aged playboy.

His name was Jing Yan, the second chairman of Dragon City's Dock Workers Association. His father had been a brigadier general civil official in the Chinese Expeditionary Force. After the war ended, the Jing family settled in Dragon City and unified the "docks" to establish this association through their powerful political connections.

Not long after the old man established the association, he died of serious illness, and Jing Yan took over his father's position, becoming the Great Dragon Head of the Dock Workers Association.

Compared to his father, Jing Yan's working style and appearance were completely different. He was aggressive and decisive, always following through on his words, so although young in age, his control over the entire association was stronger than his father's, and because of his personality, the people below also greatly respected him.

......

The two cars drove out of the airport, heading directly for the association headquarters.

Jing Yan sat in the back seat with his hands in his sleeves, asking Zhang Ming somewhat tiredly: "What are we eating later?"

Zhang Ming was stunned for a moment: "Ordered a table of seafood and Cantonese dishes."

Jing Yan waved his hand: "Forget the seafood, have them prepare something lighter."

"Good," Zhang Ming immediately nodded.

Jing Yan stopped talking, only propping his chin and looking out the window, lost in thought about something unknown.

Along the way, the car was very quiet. Zhang Ming, who originally had many things to say, seeing Jing Yan not speaking first, didn't dare to speak first either.

About an hour later, the cars arrived at the Dock Workers Association. The driver pulled open the door for Jing Yan, who then bent down to get out.

Zhang Ming followed behind, half a body length back.

"Old Zhang, have you talked with Gu Tongshan's son?" Jing Yan suddenly asked.

"Talked, talked," Zhang Ming immediately replied. "Old He and others from the council of elders talked to me first, still about Wei Xiangzuo killing Gu Tongshan, so I asked Gu Baishun's thoughts."

"What did he say?"

"Gu Baishun supports Wei Xiangzuo," Zhang Ming replied softly. "He said he believes in Wei Xiangzuo's character and is convinced Xu Hu harmed his father."

Jing Yan nodded without replying further.

The group quickly walked into the Dock Workers Association and, led by Zhang Ming, entered the restaurant on the third floor.

Inside, over ten council of elders members sat around the dining table. Seeing Jing Yan enter, they immediately all stood up, coming forward to exchange greetings, calling him Chairman one after another.

After entering the room, Jing Yan immediately changed his expression, smiling as he greeted everyone: "Sit, all sit!"

After exchanging pleasantries, everyone bent down to return to their seats.

"Hungry!" Jing Yan leaned back in his chair, looking up and calling: "Serve the dishes!"

At these words, several Dock Workers Association restaurant servers brought out wine and dishes to the table.

Old He, who had led the council of elders members in jointly protesting, saw the servers bringing out rice porridge and stir-fried vegetables, and his expression immediately became speechless: "The Chairman's back and we're just eating this?"

"I arranged it," Jing Yan picked up a thin pancake and replied softly. "Eating rich food every day, the body can't take it."

Hearing this, Old He didn't say more.

Jing Yan relaxed his posture and, after taking a bite of the pancake, actively called out: "Don't just sit there, start eating!"

Everyone exchanged glances before eating along with Jing Yan.

At the table, Jing Yan didn't mention Zha'nan's matters, and Zhang Ming was even less likely to guide the topic that way, so Old He was anxiously going in circles before finally unable to resist speaking first.

"Chairman, I must admit our mistake!" Old He sighed saying: "In Zha'nan's matter, we council of elders didn't do well, letting a traitor rebel."

Jing Yan glanced at him, asking casually: "Traitor, what traitor?"

"That traitor Wei Xiangzuo of course," Old He said through gritted teeth. "He colluded with outsiders to first harm Old Gu, then dealt with Xu Hu, and most importantly, he brought extremely negative social impact to our Dock Workers Association!"

"Mm," Jing Yan slowly nodded.

"Chairman, if we don't eliminate such people, it will be hard to establish rules in the future," Old He didn't even mention not letting Wei Xiangzuo become gang leader, but directly killed the conversation by labeling him a traitor.

"Old He, we are a large association with systems," Jing Yan took a drink of rice porridge and replied softly. "Everything must follow procedures. Wei Xiangzuo's matter is a bit complex, not easy to judge hastily!"

"Chairman, you haven't been home this period, you might not understand many things very clearly," Old He had already seen that Jing Yan didn't want to discuss this topic, but now he had to state his position, otherwise his various previous actions supporting Xu Hu's internal strife would all be wrong: "Now everyone in Dragon City knows Wei Xiangzuo colluded with the Yu family to kill Old Gu! If we're talking systems and procedures, then we must deal with Wei Xiangzuo."

Jing Yan paused for several seconds before looking up at the other ten-plus people: "Do you all think the same?"

Everyone nodded without hesitation and began criticizing Wei Xiangzuo in brief words.

Jing Yan wiped his mouth corner with a napkin and turned to nod at his secretary.

"Chairman, this matter must be handled seriously!" Old He continued adding from the side: "Wei Xiangzuo colluding with the Yu family is like letting outsiders through the gates! If he really succeeds, it's like letting someone plant a flag in Zha'nan!"

Jing Yan listened to everyone's words without responding, only drinking rice porridge.

After a while, the secretary brought in a man carrying many materials packed in document folders.

Everyone was stunned.

"Before discussing Wei Xiangzuo's matter, look at these things first," Jing Yan said pointing at the materials his secretary placed on the table.

Old He and others looked dubiously at Jing Yan before each picking up the materials on the table.

After a while, everyone's faces turned pale, their eyes filled with obvious unease.

The materials recorded many things, including Old He and others colluding with various district gang leaders, privately embezzling association funds, having their own side operations and doing business.

"This is slander!!" Old He stared with bulging eyes, holding the materials and shouting.

"Did I say it was true? Why are you so excited?" Jing Yan looked up asking him.

Old He was speechless.

"I'll say this once - the council of elders doesn't need to meddle in Wei Xiangzuo's matter," Jing Yan slowly stood up, pointing at the wound on Old He's mouth saying: "Your mouth is already split - can't you talk less?!"

"Chair... Chairman...!"

"All old faces here - don't make me smash all your faces on the ground, making things very awkward," Jing Yan said to everyone in the room before turning to leave.

At the same time, Zhang Ming called Gu Baishun, notifying him to come to the General Association immediately.

......

In the Chinese District, at the Zhou family.

Zhou Yaoxiang was discussing with company people about who to send to Dragon City in the future to jointly manage the new association with the Yu family people.

In the conference room, Zhou Tonghui looked at the group of elders and, after hesitating for a long time, suddenly weakly raised his hand: "Dad, I want to go to Dragon City to participate in management, intern for a while!"

Yes, Zhou Tonghui really wanted to go, because those demons and monsters in Dragon City had left him with too many wonderful memories - he really missed those fucking brothers!
