Chapter 273: The Rising Star Dog Six

In the office.

Li Mingsheng said softly to Su Tianyu: "Sending you there is for a mission. The second rescue scene outside the district was very chaotic - we captured some Chi Army soldiers, and the Chi Army side is holding some of our people, so we need to exchange."

Su Tianyu paused slightly: "Leader, we just finished the press conference, shouting slogans about being irreconcilable with evil forces - isn't it... to privately exchange cards with the Chi Army now...!"

"That's why we're sending you," Li Mingsheng said looking at Su Tianyu. "You're not government personnel currently - your operation is a private action, not conflicting with the slogans."

"...!" Su Tianyu scratched his head: "Then what if the Chi Army turns hostile on the spot?"

"Then I'll have Li Yuan find someone else to talk with them - whether you can return will depend on fate," Li Mingsheng replied smiling.

Su Tianyu looked at him sideways: "Ah, so that's how you're thinking."

"Hehe." Li Mingsheng pointed at Su Tianyu: "Don't play these games with me - you go because you can talk with Zhao Weihu - giving you a chance to make merit."

Su Tianyu could only nod: "Good, I understand."

Li Mingsheng looked at the young man before him with crossed hands, considering for a while before asking: "Won't let you run for nothing - civil service recruitment is about to start - prepare your personal materials after returning."

Su Tianyu was overjoyed: "Yes! Thank you leader."

"Need me to have the Anti-Terror Squad send a couple people with you?"

"No need - if something really happens, two more people won't help," Su Tianyu waved. "I'll just go alone."

"Be careful."

"...Yes, I'll try my best to be careful." Su Tianyu thought to himself, how the fuck to be careful? If Zhao Weihu had a fit and took him out, even wearing eight hundred layers of bulletproof vests would be useless.

......

After a short while, Li Yuan sent Su Tianyu out of the office, saying softly: "Little Su, I really envy you."

"Why say that, Brother Li?"

"How many people want to connect with Mayor Li? Dream of establishing some relationship or even kinship with him. But you came right in with a life-saving grace, don't know how many levels higher than others," Li Yuan said with an envious face. "This time going to the Chi Army isn't that it must be you, because many people previously did business with Zhao Weihu, but the mayor still let you go - this is really giving you an opportunity."

"Yes, I understand." Su Tianyu inwardly dismissed his words, because secretaries did the work of threading needles through gaps - Li Yuan speaking this way was very likely buying Su Tianyu's goodwill for Li Mingsheng, though this definitely wasn't instructed by Li Mingsheng - should just be Li Yuan's own smoothness.

"Work hard - later give me your application materials - I'll personally insert them."

"Thanks big brother." Su Tianyu immediately replied: "When I return, let's have a private meal."

"Good!"

After they touched on the point, Su Tianyu left the city government building, taking a car home.

At noon, after showering and changing clothes at home, Su Tianyu immediately found Anti-Terror Squad people to have them send him to the Kasalo border.

......

At 8 PM, when it was very dark.

Su Tianyu was secretly picked up by Chi Army people at the Kasalo border, then rode for over three hours by car before entering the Chi Army's new base.

Getting out of the car, Su Tianyu noticed the Chi Army's main force seemed to have all been moved here, not daring to operate at the border line - probably afraid of encirclement by Dragon City and Zone One troops.

Actually the current relationship between the Chi Army and Dragon City was quite pathological - they fought to the death openly, Dragon City constantly talking about eliminating bandits, Chi Army constantly talking about revenge, but privately they actually had contact, even exchanging hostages - both sides firing verbal shots, in the end who knows who the fuck was being deceived.

Guard Battalion Commander Zhu Bajie picked up Su Tianyu, leading him through the camp to a single-story house.

Entering the room, Su Tianyu saw Zhao Weihu lying on a hospital bed, arms and legs wrapped in bandages and on an IV drip.

It seemed the Chi Army had also paid a heavy price finally breaking free at the border - even Zhao Weihu was wounded.

"Commander, Little Su is here," Zhu Bajie called out softly.

Zhao Weihu turned to him, looking at Su Tianyu and yawning: "Sit."

"Big Brother, you're injured? Are you alright?" Su Tianyu immediately came over.

"Hehe!" The guard battalion commander smiled at the fawning Su Tianyu, turning to close the door and leave.

"...What message did Li Mingsheng have you bring?" Zhao Weihu looked at him, asking directly.

Su Tianyu pulled over a chair, bending to sit beside Zhao Weihu replying: "Exchange people. Your side still had several people not released before, right? At the battle scene, both sides also... also had gains, so I came."

Zhao Weihu paused slightly: "Can exchange people - I have no use for Dragon City's claws - later I'll have the guard battalion commander connect with you."

Zhao Weihu and Li Mingsheng both agreed to exchange people because they both understood clearly that after the Chi Army did this thing, they definitely wouldn't dare operate at the border line - would move to deeper regions of Kasalo in future to avoid Zone One and Dragon City's military encirclement.

Though the Chi Army currently had Old Mo official army's protection, facing Zone forces they were still completely outmatched - running was the only way. With less contact in future, holding hostages had no use, and Dragon City officials also couldn't ignore their own people - hostages truly being held by Zhao Weihu for years would be very troublesome.

"Thank you Commander!" Su Tianyu replied smiling, looking eagerly at Zhao Weihu, suddenly asking: "Oh right, there's another thing I want to ask you...!"

"What thing?" Zhao Weihu looked at him, pretending not to know.

"Why didn't Jing Yan die? Hehe." Su Tianyu looked at him without beating around the bush.

The day the Supervision Assembly hostage incident occurred, Su Tianyu had advance knowledge of the special forces attack and leaked it to Zhao Weihu, the condition being to use their hands to kill Jing Yan and Gu Baishun, but the former finished telling the news while the latter didn't handle the matter.

"Hehe." Zhao Weihu smiled, pointing at him saying: "I even dared move against Li Mingsheng - you still dare negotiate conditions with me?!"

"Not negotiating conditions - I just want to ask," Su Tianyu immediately waved. "Whatever you decide is right, but I want to know the reason...!"

Zhao Weihu was silent for a while: "Jing Yan could help during my withdrawal, so I didn't move against him!"

"Oh, I see!" Su Tianyu nodded: "Then after he helped, why didn't you kill him?"

Zhao Weihu looked at him somewhat shocked: "Are you teaching me how to handle things?!"
