Chapter 91: Another Round
"Screech, screech...!"
Urgent and teeth-grinding brake sounds rang out on the road outside the district as three cars that rushed out from the intersection blocked the road diagonally in the center.
"Holy shit!"
Xu Er's driver cried out in shock, instinctively hitting the brakes.
A series of ear-piercing tire-against-ground friction sounds rang out as the three cars heading toward Dragon City came to a stop on the right side of the road.
"Don't go over, they still have guns," Su Tianyu called out from inside the car with his face covered, then instantly pulled open the car door.
"Bang bang bang...!"
Gunshots rang out as Su Tianyu and Old Black, each holding a handgun, shot out the tires of two of the enemy vehicles.
"Second Brother, Second Brother, someone's robbing us on the road!" chaotic shouts rang out from inside the car.
Xu Er suddenly sat up straight, pulled a shotgun from the canvas bag at his feet, and shouted through gritted teeth: "Drive, ram through."
"The tires are blown out, we can't go far!" the driver shouted.
"Damn it!"
Xu Er cursed, pushed open the door with his left hand, stepped out and, hiding behind the door panel, pulled the trigger.
"Bang bang!"
The shotgun roared, its muzzle spitting fire as it fired several shots at the oncoming vehicles.
In the car, Su Tianyu pulled back his body and bent down to shout: "Don't move, don't get out yet!"
By another car, Old Black gripped his gun, waiting until Xu Er had fired three or four shots before poking his head out to return two shots.
"Go, go, to the woods."
Xu Er shouted and led the retreat, carrying his gun.
From the two cars behind, Xu Er's other lackeys rushed out of their cars in panic. Many of them were injured, and though many carried guns, they had no bullets left.
In the first half of the night's battle at Karl Living Village, Xu Er's side had already exhausted their ammunition. Not only were many guns out of ammo, but some had even lost their knives and iron bars. Plus, one car that had been wrecked by Kong Zhenghui and others had been abandoned in the living village.
These twenty-some people had staked out for three or four days during New Year's, were ambushed in the first half of the night, and now were getting another round in the second half.
It was too sudden!
Many injured lackeys hadn't even had their wounds stitched, only covering their injuries with bandages using one hand as they stumbled out of the cars in disarray.
The other side had guns and people in three cars - how the fuck were they supposed to fight?!
"Go, quick, wait for our people to come," Xu Er finished the ammunition in his gun and turned to run, taking two steps down into the ditch and skillfully diving into the woods. His speed could have qualified him as a cross-country champion in complex terrain.
"Make the call!"
Xu Er shouted while running.
Behind him, a lackey took out his phone and tremblingly dialed the number of their "gang friends" coming to help: "Hello, where are you? We've been ambushed halfway, right on Highway 302..."
On the road.
Su Tianyu poked his head out and saw the other side starting to scatter in escape, immediately getting out with his gun: "Get them."
"Whoosh!"
People from all three cars rushed out, weapons in hand, charging straight at the fleeing lackeys.
"Second Brother, Second Brother, wait for me! Damn it, Second Brother, you're not looking after me!" On the road, Ming'er, who had been shot in the leg by Su Tianyu earlier, had just limped down into the ditch, cursing with a pale face.
Ming'er was seriously injured - to put it plainly, even without anyone attacking him, he might have been in critical condition, let alone being chased by gunmen halfway through.
Ming'er went down into the ditch, his lame leg missed its step, and he fell straight down.
A group of people rushed up and started wildly beating his head with iron bars.
"Stop hitting, I submit... I surrender, stop hitting...!" Ming'er covered his head, screaming like a pig being slaughtered.
Su Tianyu, Kong Zhenghui, and Bai Hongbo went down into the ditch and strode after the others toward the woods.
......
In the four cars driving out from Dragon City.
The bald middle-aged man looked up and asked the driver: "What happened?"
"Damn it, Second Brother's been ambushed," the driver immediately turned back and shouted: "Get your weapons, quick!"
Hearing this, everyone pulled out weapons from canvas bags in the cars, looking at each other with grave expressions.
The driver held the steering wheel with his left hand and dialed Xu Hu's number with his right: "Hello, Big Brother, something's happened to Second Brother, he's been ambushed halfway, I'm not too far from him..."
In the urban area, at the entrance of a high-end apartment, Xu Hu stopped in his tracks and asked with raised eyebrows: "When did this happen?"
"Just now, we just talked on the phone..."
"...!" Xu Hu gritted his teeth and turned around directly, saying: "You go there immediately and meet up with Little Two."
"Yes, yes!"
"I'm bringing people over now," Xu Hu hung up the phone and cursed, mad enough to go crazy: "Has this old man gone senile? Why does he have to find me right now?!"
Objectively speaking, Xu Hu's curse was unreasonable, because although Gu Tongshan had asked to meet him, he hadn't asked him to come immediately. It was Xu Hu himself who thought the Karl Living Village matter was over and had brought people into the urban area.
Simply put, Xu Hu now had anger he couldn't vent and didn't know how to release it. He bent down to get in the car and looked up to shout: "Call the port, go out from Haiyan Pit onto Highway 302."
"Got it!" the driver nodded.
Xu Hu looked down and dialed Gu Tongshan's number: "Hello, Master!"
"You're here?"
"I'm not, I just got to the street outside when they called me, saying Little Two was ambushed halfway," Xu Hu said with some resentment, frowning. "I said before, there's no need to talk with the Yu family now. It's useless to find the navy people, they want to finish us off."
Gu Tongshan frowned in silence.
"Master, no matter how far things go tonight, the port's upper-level connections must show themselves. The garrison entered the port before, clearly telling you they would protect the Yu family, but on our side it's just me struggling on the surface," Xu Hu said very angrily.
"What did you say?" Gu Tongshan asked in a low voice.
Hearing this, Xu Hu realized he had said too much.
What did he mean by struggling alone on the surface? Those words represented the entire Zha'nan dock gang!
"I mean, right now it's just me leading these brothers and the Yu family..."
"Alright, I understand," Gu Tongshan hung up.
Xu Hu glanced at the phone and loosened his collar, saying: "Call Wei Xiangzuo, the team leaders below, Lu Xing, call them all. Damn it, if I let Yu Mingyuan's people enter the city today, I'll take his surname!"
At this moment, Xu Hu didn't know someone from the Bai family had died, and even less did he know what the other side was after. He only thought the Yu family was teaching him a lesson, pressing down on him, Xu Hu, to deal with him.
......
In the woods along Highway 302.
Bai Hongbo, his face covered, carried a knife and kept chasing after Xu Er.
"Don't be rash, he has a gun," Kong Zhenghui kept holding back Bai Hongbo's speed.
"Bang bang...!"
Not far away, Su Tianyu and Old Black kept firing their guns toward Xu Er's direction, forcing him to separate from the other fleeing lackeys.
