Chapter 92: Three Old Guns, Dreaming Back Twenty-Five Years

In the woods, the tall and thin Xu Er swung his long legs, running hard with his head down.

Su Tianyu glanced at his position and turned to tell Kong Zhenghui: "Old Kong, you don't need to follow. Go chase off the other lackeys and get people ready to leave."

"Alright," Kong Zhenghui didn't insist and turned to run to the side.

"Bang bang."

Su Tianyu fired two more shots toward the right side, scaring Xu Er into immediately running to the left. He had a shotgun with few rounds and slow loading. He had been firing backward while running earlier, so now he was completely out of ammunition.

Seeing the other hadn't fired for a while, Bai Hongbo, with endurance from who knows where, suddenly sped up again and charged straight after him.

"Whoosh!"

After running for three or four minutes with sweat pouring down his forehead, Xu Er emerged from the woods to see the ocean not far ahead, with narrow coastal roads on both sides - the kind made of gravel but not yet paved with asphalt.

This area hadn't been developed yet and was some distance from Dragon City, so the roads were rough and close to the border between Zone One and Xinaluo, with almost no human presence around.

Xu Er held his gun, looked around, and ran toward the ocean. The roads on both sides were too exposed - even if he ran for a kilometer, those chasing him would still be able to see him.

Having lived at the docks for years, Xu Er was an excellent swimmer. Jumping into the sea would actually make it easier for him to escape.

"Thud thud...!"

Xu Er didn't care whether his brothers had caught up behind him. Seeing the ocean ahead, he immediately sprinted toward it.

By this time, Su Tianyu, Bai Hongbo, and Old Black had also emerged from the woods and spotted Xu Er.

"Whoosh!"

Just then, car headlights beamed out from the intersection in the middle of the woods. Two SUVs sped down, turned on the gravel road, and charged straight at Xu Er.

"Damn it, it's not over yet!" Xu Er cursed and accelerated again.

"Vroom vroom!"

The car engines roared - two legs indeed couldn't outrun four wheels. Xu Er ran while turning his head to look at the blinding headlights, seeing the cars charging at him like cannonballs.

The cars didn't slow down, so Xu Er definitely didn't dare to keep running straight. He watched the cars with sweat on his forehead, swaying back and forth to dodge the oncoming front ends.

"Whoosh!"

Xu Er swayed his body repeatedly, barely dodging the cars charging straight at him, but lost his balance. As he leaned to one side, his feet tangled and he fell to the ground.

"Screech!"

The cars stopped, their tires still smoking with a burnt smell.

Xu Er truly couldn't run anymore. He lay on the ground panting, his body covered in sweat.

Su Tianyu, Bai Hongbo, Old Black, and several others from the two SUVs rushed over.

The people who got out of the cars weren't wearing masks. Xu Er raised his head with effort and glanced at everyone in the headlights, immediately sneering: "Fuck, a bunch of old guys came!"

Bai Dabiao, Su Zhengcai, and Old Kong all looked at Xu Er on the ground expressionlessly.

"...What's the meaning of this, you want to capture me?!" Xu Er wiped the sweat from his forehead with his arm. "Even if you capture me there's no fucking way to negotiate. The dock gang lost over ten million in goods inside and out, a team leader and over ten brothers all went in, facing heavy sentences. This isn't just about face anymore, understand?"

At this moment, Xu Er didn't know Bai Hongtao was dead. He still thought they wanted to catch him to negotiate further with Xu Hu.

Bai Dabiao looked down at Xu Er and called out: "Knife!"

Behind him, a Bai family member handed over his knife.

Xu Er squinted at Bai Dabiao: "Are you fucking sick in the head? You want to kill me or what?!"

Nearly sixty-year-old Bai Dabiao gripped the knife in his right hand, his mouth twitching, and stepped forward without saying a word.

Xu Er was somewhat stunned: "What are you going to do?"

Bai Dabiao suddenly raised his arm and, gripping the knife handle with both hands, swung it down in a full arc.

Xu Er reacted fairly quickly, raising his arm to block.

"Squelch!"

One slash fell, blood flowing.

Xu Er fell to the ground again, the unruly look in his eyes now turned to terror: "Bai Dabiao, you fucking...!"

Bai Dabiao said nothing, swinging the knife with both hands to slash again.

Xu Er lay on the ground dodging left and right, looking extremely wretched.

"Ptui!"

Su Zhengcai crudely spat on his hand, slowly rubbed it open, then grabbed a knife from one of his family members and stepped forward.

Both old men had served in the military and been on battlefields, leading their families through that extremely turbulent era to the present.

These two men, over 120 years old combined, looked stooped and aged, but when facing Xu Er, their strikes were extremely decisive and fierce.

"Squelch!"

"Squelch!"

"...!"

The two old men surrounded Xu Er, keeping half a step's distance, their postures standard as they slashed at him over ten times with swift movements.

By now Xu Er had realized they weren't trying to capture him but kill him. He struggled violently, trying several times to get up and run, but was blocked by Su Zhengcai's positioning and chopped down again when he slashed at his legs.

"Bai Dabiao! If you dare kill me, not one person in your Bai family will live!" Xu Er panicked, rolling on the ground covered in blood.

"Great famine, corpses everywhere, Special District established, million-man riots, warlord wars - I followed the troops all the way south with the army, fighting from the Northeast all the way to Shanghai, then from Shanghai to Summer Island. You're trying to scare me?! If I was afraid of death, there wouldn't be a Bai family in Zha'nan today!" Bai Dabiao gritted his steel teeth and slashed at Xu Er's neck.

"Squelch!"

Xu Er could no longer raise his arms. As he turned his head to dodge, the blade cut straight into his cheek.

Beside him, Su Zhengcai slashed twice in succession. With over ten wounds, Xu Er could no longer get up and lay convulsing.

On the outside, Old Kong looked at Xu Er lying on the ground and, after hesitating three times, stepped forward, took the knife from Su Zhengcai, and wordlessly slashed at his neck.

The young people present were all stunned, especially Su Tianbei and Kong Zhenghui. In their impression, although these three old men were either taciturn or hot-tempered normally, they were all kind and wise to their family members, not at all seeming like the type who could kill people with knives or fight others to the death.

Bai Hongtao was gone, and the three old men dreamed back twenty-five years to that era when battlefields were everywhere and war fires burned across the land.

After being slashed over twenty times, Xu Er died. He hadn't fallen to the rising stars but was instead broken by three old men.

By the sea, Bai Dabiao put away his knife and pointed at Bai Hongbo saying: "Yu Mingyuan has principles, from now on you must have principles too."

With that, Bai Dabiao got into the car.

Su Tianyu looked down and dialed Yu Mingyuan's number.

At the same time.

At Tianhong Port, the dock gang had gathered over two hundred people, dispersing in cars out of the urban area, placing lookouts on all city entry roads leading toward Karl Living Village.

On the city streets, Xu Hu had called his brother three times, but the latter hadn't answered. Now his right eyelid suddenly started twitching violently, and he became restless.

At Customs.

"Gu Tongshan says Yu Jinrong's son is outside the district."

"If the garrison doesn't show up, we don't need to get involved," a man lying in the spacious duty room of the school officer replied with a yawn.
