Chapter 299 From Now On, I Follow You

The train continued to forge ahead, everything appearing to be as ordinary as ever. However, the presence of the few men in military coats standing within the carriage seemed akin to Grim Reapers, causing the heartbeats of everyone on board to quicken.

Soon, a middle-aged man entered the carriage, accompanied by a female police officer dressed in her uniform. Despite this, the scar-faced man remained unafraid, and with a wave of his hand, the door to the carriage was closed. The two individuals in military coats simultaneously drew their pistols, aiming them at the conductor and the policewoman.

Qin Chao, however, widened his eyes in shock. He thought, "Damn, Ai Xiaoxue, what is she doing here?"

"You want to negotiate terms with the government? Speak to me directly!" Ai Xiaoxue, exuding an air of bravery, showed no fear of the guns pointed at her, addressing the man with the scar on his face.

"You want me to talk to you?" The scar-faced man raised an eyebrow. "Who are you?"

"I am just an ordinary female police officer," Ai Xiaoxue replied as she adjusted the police cap on her head. "But I have been temporarily authorized to negotiate with you."

"That's right, I can vouch for that," the conductor chimed in. "What exactly do you people want to accomplish by hijacking this train?"

"Officer, what should I call you?" The scar-faced man was not in a hurry but instead inquired about Ai Xiaoxue's name.

"My name is Ai Xiaoxue!"

"Search Officer Ai," the scar-faced man gestured, and one of the men in a military coat stepped forward, beginning to search Ai Xiaoxue from her legs upward.

Ai Xiaoxue's body shuddered, and she wanted to kick the man to the ground, but she managed to hold herself back. The man was honest and didn't take advantage of the situation to touch inappropriate places. He removed a type-92 pistol from Ai Xiaoxue's waist and handed it to the scar-faced man before stepping aside.

"A type-92, not a bad gun," the man commented as he toyed with the pistol in his hand. "But I prefer the type-54, it has better penetration. You know, the feeling of blowing someone's head off with a single shot is quite thrilling."

As he spoke, he fired a shot with a loud bang. The man in the black coat now had a hole in his forehead and collapsed lifelessly into a pool of blood. His hand still clutched the dagger.

"What are you doing?!" Ai Xiaoxue exclaimed in shock and anger as these criminals dared to kill someone right under her watch. If her colleagues in the organization found out, they would surely mock her incompetence.

"Just a warning for you all," the scar-faced man calmly put away his pistol, his face suddenly becoming stern and menacing. "I want to remind you that we all have murder cases on our records. Don't push us into a corner. Even in death, we will drag everyone on this train to hell with us."

His words undoubtedly sent shivers down the spines of everyone on board. Was this man insane?

"Who are you people, exactly?!" Ai Xiaoxue demanded, exasperated.

"Officer Ai, you must have heard of us," the scar-faced man's demeanor returned to its casual state as the fierceness on his face receded. He spoke nonchalantly, "My name is Huang Hu."

"Huang Hu!" Ai Xiaoxue was shocked.

Those on the train who regularly watched the news were also stunned. Huang Hu and his gang had, just a few days prior, ransacked an entire street of shops in the Xihuan City. This included banks, gold stores, and jewelry stores. In the end, these criminals had managed to escape the police pursuit by taking hostages. However, Huang Hu's brother, Huang Long, had been captured by the police.

This man, who had only ever appeared on television, was now standing before them in the flesh. The sight of him could not help but instill panic in everyone.

"You, you've hijacked this train to…"

"Yes, I have only one demand," Huang Hu said calmly. "I want the police to release my brother, send him to the harbor, and provide him with a boat. Don't worry about not having anyone to sail the boat; my brother can handle it himself."

Since Huang Hu dared to hijack the train, he naturally had a plan in place. He glanced at his watch and then chuckled.

"By the way, you only have half an hour to consider my demand. After that, every five minutes, I will kill one person. With so many people on the train, there's no need to worry about running out of victims, right?"

Ai Xiaoxue was horrified. These were undoubtedly desperate criminals! She hadn't expected to encounter such a situation while simply heading to Weilian City for a mission.

What would Liu Aiguo do if he were on this train? Ai Xiaoxue's mind raced.

Qin Chao was also deep in thought. There were currently five criminals in the carriage, all armed with weapons. Subduing them in an instant wouldn't be a problem for him. However, Qin Chao's primary concern was the two men still at the front of the train.

Moreover, since Huang Hu dared to board the train, he must have made other arrangements. Huang Hu's hair wasn't short, and it seemed as though he had a black earpiece hidden beneath it.

Qin Chao's keen eyes discerned the object. There must be others in the other carriages who, if not handled properly, could set off explosives.

"Contact your government. My patience is limited," Huang Hu said and gestured, seemingly indicating for Qin Chao and An Qing to make way.

This Huang Hu also needed to find a place to sit for a while. Without a second thought, Qin Chao stood up, pulling An Qing with him.

As soon as he stood up, Ai Xiaoxue's eyes lit up. This guy was on the train! That was great! With his skills, there shouldn't be any problem dealing with these criminals.

Thinking this, Ai Xiaoxue cast a pleading glance at Qin Chao.

Yet Qin Chao merely shook his head slightly and feigned fear, standing to one side with An Qing in tow.

He refused her?

Ai Xiaoxue's brows furrowed in consternation. Was he afraid?

Qin Chao raised his hand and gently pressed his left ear. Ai Xiaoxue instantly understood; he was telling her that Huang Hu's ear was equipped with a communication device!

There must be others on this train!

Now, the situation had indeed become more complicated. Ai Xiaoxue began to ponder their options once more. Was it really necessary to compromise with these criminals?

"Officer Ai, you have twenty-five minutes left," Huang Hu reminded her languidly, showing no signs of urgency.

She had no choice but to contact headquarters first.

With so many people on the train, Ai Xiaoxue couldn't bear the responsibility alone. With that in mind, she took out her phone and dialed a number.

After reporting the situation to headquarters, it seemed that chaos ensued on the other end.

"Huang Hu demands the release of his brother, and he wants him sent to the harbor with a prepared boat," Ai Xiaoxue relayed Huang Hu's conditions to headquarters.

"Ai Xiaoxue, agree to their demands for now," a voice came through the phone, sending a shiver down her spine. "Keep them calm. Liu Aiguo is on the train as well; he will help you."

Liu Aiguo was on the train too! Could it be true?

Overjoyed, Ai Xiaoxue thought that with the legendary agent's assistance, the criminals in the other carriages shouldn't pose much of a problem.

"Officer Ai, may I borrow your phone?"

Huang Hu gestured towards Ai Xiaoxue, as if he had figured something out. With that, she lost her means of contacting Liu Aiguo.

Reluctantly, she handed over her phone, knowing that the other party had an entire train full of hostages.

Huang Hu took the phone and began negotiating with the other side.

"In twenty minutes, I want to hear my brother call me," Huang Hu said before abruptly hanging up the phone and pocketing it in his military coat.

"Huang Hu, we have agreed to your demands. Please do not harm any more hostages," Ai Xiaoxue said to him, not bothering to ask for her phone back.

"Don't worry. As long as my brother is safe, you all will be too," Huang Hu replied indifferently, waving his hand before pulling a cigarette from his pocket and placing it in his mouth.

He patted his pocket and suddenly furrowed his brow.

He had forgotten his lighter.

At that moment, a hand extended from the side, holding a sleek windproof lighter.

Huang Hu was taken aback, turning his head to see that it was the male passenger who had stood up earlier.

"Big... big brother, you smoke," the male passenger's face was filled with panic, trembling as his hand holding the lighter shook.

"You're quite clever," Huang Hu said with a faint smile as he lit his cigarette. "Don't worry, I won't kill any of you within the next twenty minutes."

Finishing his words, his expression suddenly turned fierce again, adding, "But if they don't agree to our demands, you'll be the first one I kill!"

Thump!

Qin Chao fell to the ground, sitting on his rear.

His pale face and cold sweat made Huang Hu burst into laughter.

Seeing him like this, Ai Xiaoxue felt a strange sensation.

This guy was acting again...

He should really become a film actor; perhaps he could even win the Oscar for Best Actor!

"Big brother, please don't kill me!"

Qin Chao suddenly began to sob, clutching Huang Hu's leg and crying, "I have an eighty-year-old mother and an eighteen-year-old daughter. If I die, who will take care of them?"

"Big brother, we were all born to our parents, and life is not easy for any of us! I know you value brotherhood and are a real man! But we're also struggling. Do you know how difficult life is these days? I work myself to the bone every day and still can't afford a house. My boss oppresses me, and my wife... my wife is having an affair!"

As he spoke, Qin Chao pointed to An Qing beside him.

An Qing was stunned, thinking to herself, "When did I become your wife?"

An Qing had been puzzled; Qin Chao had been so brave when he had caught the thief earlier. Why had he lost his nerve at the sight of a gun? Now, it seemed, something was amiss.

Seeing the beautiful woman who, in Qin Chao's words, was unfaithful, Huang Hu looked a little strange.

"Brother, what's the point of living like this?" Huang Hu asked, patting Qin Chao on the shoulder with a curious expression.

"I... I've thought about dying!" Qin Chao suddenly said fiercely. "But dying like this would be too humiliating! I, Qin Chao, wouldn't be a real man if I don't kill that adulterer!"

"Alright!" Huang Hu vigorously patted his shoulder again. "In that case, I promise to help you kill the adulterer. You can follow us from now on."

"Big... big brother, you want me to..." Qin Chao seemed dumbfounded.

"What, you don't want to?" A murderous intent flickered across Huang Hu's face.

"I... I..." Qin Chao's face alternated between shades of blue and white, seemingly engaged in a fierce internal struggle. Finally, with a determined expression, he spoke loudly.

"Big brother, from now on, I, Qin Chao, will follow you!"
